Question about the Awaken spell!

So, if you awaken a tree, does it gain a constitution score?

Animated objects don't. Awakened creatures get the statistics of animated objects of their size, the only difference being their mental stats. But how does one deal with, say, a Red Pine Barbarian's rage? Or even the con modifier on hitpoint gain per level? Do I treat it as a zero? A ten?

I ask because I was thinking about drawing up an awakened Oak that takes druid levels. I mean, sure, any DM is going to modify the racial stuff and make some fiat decisions depending on their game, but knowing whether or not such a creature can have a constitution score seems somewhat important.


There are a number of "intelligent" plant creatures. They have a con score, so I would assume an awakened tree would as well. Here's an example:
