slight of hand - creative uses

Advice

I have never used slight of hand. I have a new character that just happens to have a really decent slight of hand skill and I'm looking for fun ways to use it.

Anyone have favorite uses for this skill? I'd appreciate some inspiration.

Thanks in advance...

Nothing?

I dunno besides stealing everything and hiding stuff when you go through a check point (city doesn't allow weapons) or go to a formal ball (no weapons allowed) to assassinate the king or something I dunno

Check your pockets ;)

You can use SoH in place of a Perform check to entertain a crowd for doing things like legerdmain (sleight of hand magic tricks), juggling, etc. You could earn daily income from this as with a Perform check; DC 10 for 1d10 coppers, up to DC 30 for 3d6 gold per day. Nice way for a character with decent Dex and investing in SoH anyway to have a way to earn pocket change if he has no performance, profession, or craft skill.

Planting evidence?

The Skill Description doesn't mention it, but your GM may allow you to use it to "plant" something on a person instead of taking something from them. This would be useful for framing people (such as picking a few pockets and, if discovered, slipping one of those items onto someone else and calling them out as the thief).

I could also envision the uses Merry and Pippin could have put it to had they been gradually stuffing their Uruk-hai captors' bags with rocks to slow them down.

Edit: Ninja'ed by Mark.
