This thread will be the discussion grounds to work on and try to fix this PrC to make it a viable choice.

Silver Crusade

....anyone here? this sort of thing usually gets eaten up by the various people who lurk these threads.

Sorry the file you requested does not exist. That might be the problem.

Silver Crusade

...its not supposed to do that....should I just copy and paste it here?

i just tested this link and it should work

Silver Crusade

Based on a quick read through, you've put in some interesting ideas, but two spells at once seems a touch powerful. Perhaps that should have some sort of daily limit?

..that makes sense. I'll try to see what i can do.

perhaps increas thier casting time?

Well the original capstone ability of the Mystic Theurge is the same and limited to once per day. Since part of what is being changed here is upping the power level, that might be a good idea. Not sure how this would play out in actual gameplay as a result.

Silver Crusade

...hmmmm. well, the whole pont was to make this PrC slightly stronger and be an Actual legitimate PrC to join......

how about this:

The casting time for these two spells is equal to twice the highest casting time between the two spells. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Class Level.

The Exchange

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Maybe the lack of response is due to people not feeling like there is a problem with the PRClass? I personally feel like if played right the class is fine. Unfortunately so many people play it badly with poor choices for classes and such that it makes the class look bad.
I feel like the changes you are proposing will make this PRC the best one for casters. That is a bad idea to me. Sorry if that isn't the opinion you were looking for.

I wouldn't say the existing PrC is fine--at least not for spontaneous casters. Maybe a spontaneous-oriented version would be better-received. Spontaneous casters give up more and receive less than prepared casters when going MT.

I haven't quite formed a full opinion on this version of MT. At the least, it looks a bit complicated, and it wouldn't scale as new caster types come out because the class feature enhancing abilities are whitelisted.

I really enjoyed the parts that emphasize the MT's theme of blurring the lines between arcane and divine. Maybe refine and further develop those abilities rather than trying to fill the shoes of specific base class abilities. That way MT can be awesome without stepping on other class's shoes.
