Aasimar Scion of "Humanity" Racial Trait

Pathfinder Society

As far as I understand, non-human Aasimars are legal in PFS, is this true? If so, can I take Scion of Humanity and be half gnome half outsider or half elf half outsider etc, depending on my "second race"? By raw I want to say no, because there is no Scion of (insert race here) anywhere in the rules, only scion of humanity.

It has been clarified by campaign staff here Mike's Post that all aasimars and tieflings are from human stock. So you can't have an elven aasimar, dwarf aasimar or gnome aasimar.

No. Your understanding is incorrect. Please see the Additional Resources page and the PFS FAQ for what is currently legal to play.

The FAQ link goes directly to your question, for your convenience.

HOWEVER, you ARE able to take Racial Heritage along with your Scion of Humanity, and qualify for racial favored class bonuses as a Gnome.

Be aware that many racial options are, in PFS, restricted to that race only. Additional Resources will tell you which ones, as Mystic Lemur linked.

While this is completely true, there's nothing that keeps your character from *believing* that he is an elven Aasimar. As long as you don't try to get any mechanical benefits from it.

If someone challenges you, you can always look at them quizzically and say, "But Mommy *told* me that Daddy was an elf."

But most of the feats and class bonuses from the Advanced Race Guide is only legal for the associated race in PFS, so it proberly wouldn't be of very much use unless the things that require you to be a certain race in Advanced Players Guide are what you are aiming for its worth considering.
