Stripping Paint from Pathfinder Battles Minis

Miniatures

I decided to repaint some of my multiples. While for some I'll only do minor adjustments others I need to strip to start from scratch. Does anybody have some experience for a "not too aggressive" method of doing it? Currently I am using lacquer thinner which is not very healthy and I am running the risk of dissolving my bases (lucky for me that medium earth elemental doesn't really need it's base anyway).

try simple green bathroom cleaner or things like it. It is what I use. However, I have not done that on PF minis, only DDM. So try a little before you douse and scrub with a toothbrush or the like.
Sometimes letting them soak in water with simplegreen makes it even easier to scrub off with brush.

I tried pine sol, all that did after 24 hours of soaking was soften the plastic. Not even the tiniest bit of paint came off. I'd like to hear some success stories before I stock up on more cleaners. I'm skeptic and won't buy any more that have not been tested on those minis specifically. Thanks though.

The paint is thin enough that you should just be able to paint over what's there.

While that is true for most of the minis, in some cases I am interested in making use of the clear plastic model underneath the paint. Other minis sometimes have large amounts of paint in certain areas (mainly faces) so that what little detail of the sculpt is left would be even less visible after a repaint.

In that case, I second the recommendation of soaking it in Simple Green.

King Ivoretti of LOG is an example where more paint is no option

Finally got my hands on some simple green. 36 hours of soaking and the paint is not coming off.

nearing 60 hours of soaking: Did that holy symbol of Iomedae on the half-elf cleric's chest actually fade a little or was it not very visible to begin with?

But even after some intense scrubbing still no perceivable change in the glob of paint where her face is supposed to be.

Weird.

It's been a week of soaking now, no changes, time to abandon that project.
