question on settlement info

The purchase limit is how much the settlement can purchase from the PC's, correct?

How often is this limit replenished.

I'm asking because our characters will be playing in the Darkmoon Vale and the large town of Olfden has a purchase limit of 6,500,000. We're pretty sure this town could some small countries.

The purchase limit is the most that settlement will pay for any one item, aka "you'll have problems selling any individual item for more than this here." It isn't cumulative between sales, so it doesn't replenish.

You sure its not a settlements yearly purchase limit?

Not according to http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/mastery/settlements.html

Unless there's another purchase limit.

And in fact, it appears there is, as a metropolis has a purchase limit of 100,000gp, and a large town of 10,000gp, so that either looks to be a different type of stat block, or a serious typo.

Oooh.

The Guide to Darkmoon Vale lists Olfden as having assets of 6,638,000gp. That was written for D&D 3.5 so it doesn't use standard Pathfinder settlement stat blocks. I would assume a 10,000gp per-item purchase limit as per the Pathfinder standard for a large town.

I was wondering if the Guide to Darkmoon Vale was an up to date book..... guess not.

Is there a more up to date book on Darkmmon Vale?

Yeah, going by the numbers, PZO1108 is before they even started using the 92xx series which is now standard for the Campaign Setting line (and the Pathfinder rulebook itself is PZO1110). The biggest tell-tale sign of its age though is that it says "Pathfinder Chronicles" on the cover rather than "Pathfinder Campaign Setting"

(And other than passing references in the "Andoran, Spirit of Liberty" Player Companion and the Campaign Setting hardback it looks like there's nothing newer. A few of the older D&D 3.5-era modules were set in Darkmoon Vale but obviously they'll need some converting too.)

... Correction - there's updated info (a good 8 pages or so) on Falcon's Hollow (a town within the Darkmoon vale) in Towns of the Inner Sea which only just came out :)
