Giving Thanks

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to Paizo, Mike, Vic, and everyone else involved in making this great game so great. It has been so fun to play. So thanks for the joy. Hope you are having a great, well deserved couple of days rest.

And to all you on the messageboards too that have been helpful in strategy, clarification, and sharing ideas. Thanks to you too.

Much appreciated. Let me be even clearer about who deserves that thanks.

Rian Sand came to me a couple years ago with an idea about a world and a play style which meshed with some mechanics I'd been playing around with for a few years. Together, we figured out some basics of how this game worked. It was also his enthusiasm for Pathfinder which homing-missiled us in on my longtime friends at Paizo.

Lone Shark's Chad Brown took up the unenviable job of co-writing a set of cards that worked with my system, and Paul Peterson, Gaby Weidling, and Tanis O'Connor figured out where to go from there. Paul, my choice for the #1 game-breaker in the world, especially figured out where we should not go.

Erik Mona and Jeff Alvarez championed the game at Paizo, and Lisa Stevens realized we had something special for their fans. James Jacobs, Jason Bulmahn, and Wes Schneider led us down the path of making it a perfect Pathfinder game.

Vic Wertz and Judy Bauer agreed to jump on the grenade of editing and templating all those rules and cards. Sarah Robinson and her layout team of Sonja Morris, Crystal Frasier, and Andrew Vallas made it look fantastic. Jessica Price kept the beast moving despite its frequent unwillingness to move. Pierce Watters, Cosmo Eisele, and Jenny Bendel gave us the hearing our game needed with the public and the industry.

So many writers, artists, editors, and Paizo staffers touched this project, either with the game itself or through their contributions to the original Rise of the Runelords. We relied heavily on the brilliant conceptions of Wolfgang Baur, Stephen S. Greer, James Jacobs, Nicolas Logue, Richard Pett, and Greg A. Vaughan for our unshakable storyline.

Perhaps most of all, we need to thank over 300 playtesters, gathered by PFS's Mike Brock and the Venture Captains, and given a home on the forums by Gary Teter. Over two hard months of pounding at the thing, they caught everything you're not grappling with here and on the other forums. Trust me, that's a ton.

It was my job to shine the lighthouse lamp on all of those people, making sure we navigated through all the rocks. The ship took some scratches on the hull along the way, but she's a darn good ship.

So if you're in a thankful mood, those are some people you should thank.

Mike

Thank you to everyone involved. What you have created has brought fun and laughter to us all.

Thank you everyone - from the current faces we see on these boards (Mike, Vic and Chad) to the whole team and playtesters that worked to turn an idea into a real world game that's fun to play and engaging for a broad spectrum of players. Congratulations on making a really great game!

Scarab Sages

Thanks to everyone who helped get this game out to us. It is an incredible game that I hope continues on for years to come. Hope everyone had a great day with family and friends yesterday. And yes, we did breakout the PACG and even Grandma had some fun rolling the dice. Nothing like a 72 year old Seoni to rock the game up. :-)

Just echoing the thanks to the whole team. Bravo!
