Here's a variant for making things either easier or harder Leaky locations

Please forgive me if this has been answered already, but so far I have been unable to find it on this Forum...

If a player encounters the Ogre and loses, the card states that each other character at that location also takes 1 damage.

Assuming that those other characters cannot prevent the damage themselves, then they are forced to discard a card.

The question:
Do they RESET their hands back to the full number before they play their next turn (e.g. at the original players "reset hand" step, all affected players also reset)?

Or do those other damaged characters have to play their next turn short-handed?

Thanks!

No, they don't reset - the reset phase comes only at the end of your turn. In the same way, players who help other players on a check don't reset until the end of their turn.

Just echoing the thanks to the whole team. Bravo!

I think that, hard as it might be, the best way to convey rules is not only to state them as unambiguously as possible, but also to provide an example, as not everyone is great at applying the abstract rule in a concrete context. This is why the gameplay example is great. And when examples occur (often from gameplay), where, despite first impressions, the rule doesn't apply, including this too can help.

Oh, I'm sure I will try other variants out as well - it's just that a trio seems a nice way to quickly learn the ins and outs of character interaction.

I haven't got the game yet, but I'm planning to solo with parties of three. At the moment, I'm thinking of
Merisiel - Seelah - Sajan,
Ezren - Harsk - Kyra,
Valeros - Lini - Seoni
as three possible trios. I'd appreciate any thoughts on whether these are workable parties, and any suggestions for alternatives. Thanks!
