Screw That Raven!!!

So I am a PC, not GM, Please do not reveal anything that may be sensitive, unless in spoilers, so that my GM can review before I look at it

party make up is:
Yasen- Human Druid 8- casting/summoning focused, lots of scrolls, likes turning into eagle (me)

Snowy- Tiger (Big Cat)- my animal companion, pouncing/grappling boss

Alton- Hafling Rogue 8- twf finesse +26 stealth not terrible in combat

Jamiere- Bard 6-cohort of Alton, semi-descent at archery, focused on charming and performing

Akiros- Paladin 8- archer based, yes he is actual dude from king maker, he decided to send him with us when he left to investigate weird stuff going on in Varn hold

Kingmaker, module 3:

So busy, pretty much no combat session. We visited Restov, visited the Nomen Centaurs and made alliance, checked on Spriggan cave thing (we already defeated them at Varnhold.

We went out looking for the wyverns, cus we've been ignoring them for awhile (traveling west from Varnhold)

GM says: roll perception...
we roll
GM says: you see this familiar looking raven that seems to have followed you everywhere with 40 mile radius of Varnhold

Me and other PC immediately start stating their actions
Alton: I say Hello
Yasen: I turn into Eagle
GM: huh... how fast is eagle
Me: 80, wait 90 because beast shape III
GM: whoa, not expecting that, roll initiative

Alton: Hello
Raven: starts flying

Akiros: should I shoot? [decides not to shoot], gives chase
Raven: flying
Yasen: I turn into Eagle, move 90 feet [I'm about 15 feet behind the
Snowy, Alton, Jamiere: gives chase

Akiros: gives chase
Raven: flying
Yasen: Summon 1d4+1 (3 eagles) with SNA III
Snowy, Alton, Jamiere: gives chase

Akiros: gives chase
Yasen: place myself near raven, do nothing
Eagles: chase and attempt to grapple Raven, using aid another and such
Raven: flies
GM: fail on all of them
Snowy, Alton, Jamiere: attempt to give chase
GM: sorry you can't go fast enough, difficult terrain (we are in the mountains after all)

Yasen and Eagles: chase and attempt to grapple Raven, using aid another and such
Raven: flies
GM: roll will save
Me: 17
GM: you feel weird
Me spellcraft
GM: you don't know wtf is going on

Yasen and Eagles: chase and attempt to grapple Raven, using aid another and such
GM: you get the sense this is not a normal raven
Raven: flies

Yasen and Eagles: chase and attempt to bite Raven, using aid another and such
GM: Sorry, you can't move, but your birds can
Me: ???
GM: you understand now, your cursed
GM:...
Raven: flies

GM: Eagles dwindle from existence
Yasen: summon swarm (bats)
raven: flies

Me: this is getting annoying... I have no charm animal, calm animal, or Dominate animal... what to do... (this is because I prepared 3 delay poisions and 2 neutralize poisons just in case we run into any wyverns)
Yasen: cant do nothing
Swarm: attacks, distraction (fails), bleed
raven: flies

Yasen: cant do nothing
Swarm: attacks, distraction (fails), bleed
raven: flies

Yasen: attacks

raven: flies

me: turn into human form, grap scroll of dispel magic, casts, forgot it doesn't work on curses...
Swarm: attacks, distraction (fails), bleed

Yasen: turns into eagle, flies
Swarm: attacks, distraction (fails), bleed

this continues awhile then I realize I have scroll of Animal Messenger
Yasen: turn into human, grab scroll of Animal Messenger, casts
Me: I can cast it on any animal, its compepelled to grab a morsel of food I hand out to him, and NO SAVE
GM: but it doesn't work on familiars or trained animals, lets find out-- your spell fizzles
Me: :(

Yasen: Casts Ice Storm, 14 damage, difficult terrain, blah blah blah
GM: your swarm dies, raven still alive

Yasen: cant move
Raven: flies

Yasen: can't move
GM: you cant see raven

Yasen: I fly up an search, fail perception check
GM: you cant see it

Me: TIME FOR FLAMESTRIKE!!! Could the raven possibly be within 180 ft of me, if so I will try to randomly place it
GM: its to far away and hidden amongst the rocks. Its over.

Yasen: turns into human, walks back to confused party watching spasming Druid...

Eventually we go back to Restov and trade some Bullete hide for a casting of Remove Curse.

I misunderstood. It sounded like you felt it was scripted or the result was GM Fiat was all :)

Yeah it is a pretty funny encounter... :)

Fun times, my players never bothered with it. But I ran alot of custom material. Good luck to your group!
