So I'm trying to make a wondrous item and I was hoping that you guys would give me your opinion. Nominally, the item is for the swashbuckler but I think it could be good for melee classes in general.
Still working on the flavor text, but in a nutshell:
The player activates doom by making a touch attack as a swift action that doesn't deal damage (backhanding the target and challenging them to a duel, as it were).
The use of shield I'm taking and modifying from the vambraces of defense and the player can deflect one melee attack that would normally hit as an immediate action.

If I'm doing my math right (and the magic item creation has always given me trouble for some reason, so it's very likely I'm not) the cost should come out to 8200 gp. What do you guys think?

VoD gives +1 Deflection AC. Are the CG the same? Cost is N*N*2,000 = 2,000 gp.
Doom is a 1st level spell. DC 11, (1*1*2000*3/5 = 1,200 gp). To get DC 14, you need to heighten it to 3th level (3*5*2000*3/5 = 18,000 gp). DC 16 is from heightened to 4th level (4*7*2000*3/5 = 33,600 gp).Shield is a 1st level spell, but must be same CL as Doom, so: (1*1*2000*1/5 = 400 gp), (1*5*2000*1/5 = 2,000 gp), (1*7*2000*1/5 = 2,800 gp).
Additionally, as it has secondary functions on a slotted item, add 50%. AC: 1,000 gp. Doom: 200 gp, 1,000 gp, or 1.400 gp. Shield: 200 gp, 1,000 gp, or 1,400 gp. Pick two.
Remember, all spell functions of the item have the same caster level.
Lets go with CL5, +1 Deflection AC, 3/day Doom DC 14, 1/day Shield; all activated with a Standard action. Cost is: 18,000 + 2,000*1.5 + 2,000*1.5 = 24,000 gp.
Modifying this to make the Doom go from a Standard to an Immediate? I don't know, but we can get close with a Quickened spell. This adds 4 levels, and can be done at 5th w/DC 11, 7th w/DC 14, or 8th w/DC 16. Caster level needs to be adjusted up to 9th, 13th, or 15th. I leave the cost as an exercise for the student. :-)
Lastly, First, you need to compare to similar items. Eyes of Doom might be closer to your custom item, and is 25,000 gp. Remember, 5/day and continuous are the same price.
