I never specified which talent, and rogues can take any feat they qualify for with the advanced talent feat, so a rogue can still use a talent to get gunsmithing.
But I will note that your original post was only talking about gun proficency and grit, both of which have their own rogue talents that are PFS legal, and both of which are what the slayer gets.
The following are legal rogue talents:
Firearm Training (Ex) (Ultimate Combat): A rogue with this talent gains Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms).
Grit (Ex) (Ultimate Combat): A rogue with this talent gains the Amateur Gunslinger feat and one grit feat of her choice. She must fulfill the prerequisites of the grit feat in order to choose it. A rogue must have the firearm training talent before choosing this one.
The slayer abilities are simply copy pastes of the above rogue talents.
Firearm Training (Ex): A slayer with this talent gains Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms) (see Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Combat for firearms rules).
Grit (Ex): A slayer with this talent gains the Amateur Gunslinger feat (Ultimate Combat 89) and one grit feat of his choice. He must fulfill the prerequisites of the grit feat in order to select it. A slayer must have the firearm training talent to select this talent.
The talents have the same text aside from the class name.

Semantics. Only Musketeers and Holy Guns get Gunsmithing beyond the Gunslinger and both of those archetypes are illegal. The question stands.

The following two feats function differently in Pathfinder Society Organized Play than they do in regular games:
Gunsmithing does not grant the ability to craft firearms, ammunition, or black powder. Rather, it allows the purchase of bullets, pellets, black powder, and alchemical cartridges (with 1 rank in Craft [alchemy]) at the listed reduced price, but does not grant a discount on the purchase of any firearm. Resold items gained through this feat are worth half the actual cost paid, not half the regular market value for the item. No PC can purchase a gun without this feat, even if they possess the Amateur Gunslinger or Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearm) feats.

Equipment: No firearm sized Large or larger is available for purchase. The double hackbut and culverin on Table 3–4 and advanced firearms on Table 3–5 and are not permitted in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. No character may purchase a firearm unless she possesses the Gunsmithing feat and firearms are never considered Always Available; a character must possess enough Fame to purchase any firearm not found on a Chronicle sheet or granted by a class feature. All ammunition except metal cartridges may be purchased.
And there are no prereqs for the Gunsmithing feat.
So, if you have the feat and you have the fame, you can buy guns. They aren't limited to Gunslingers.

Alright, I see this now. Anyone can use a gun with a hefty feat tax. Only Gunslingers can do so without. Slayers (being partly Rogue) and Rogues can do it a bit more easily by using talents, but must still spend a regular feat on Gunsmithing.

I have a Bard planning on investing in the feats. Won't be able to shoot a Pistol until 5th level, but then again I probably won't be able to buy a magical Pistol until then anyways.
If I decide to go with a double barrel, and I grab Rapid Reload at 7th level (which is also when Bards get Haste), that would effectively be 6d8+6 in potential damage when I do a full attack.
Probably nowhere near what I'd be able to accomplish as an actual Gunslinger, but I already have an actual Gunslinger, and it's boring doing nothing other than shooting. At least with a Bard I can be a face and a party buffer ;-).
