I swear to Stalin that I've seen people on these boards argue about whether or not a sohei can flurry with guns. That's not one of the groups it can specialize in though. As with an aldori dueling sword/rapier/scimitar.

Am I missing something?

No idea about what are the arguments for him being able to flurry with guns. Maybe some combination of classes that im not aware of?

Like I said before, a fighter can get weapon training in ANYTHING. Stack that with sohei (which only allows certain specific weapon trainings) and voila! Flurry with guns, since it says the sohei can flurry with any weapons it has weapon training in. Ultra-cheesy (like I said before), but wiht a sword at least it's more reasonable than with a gun. It's another one of those nitpickky RAW vs RAI things.

A monk/duelist flurring with guns? Now it may be cheesy, but I can see some cool roleplay coming from it!

"Yeah, im a duelist. Swords? No, no. I duel with my guns!"

A pistol IS a one-handed piercing weapon... It could work. I might try it out tonight, a game got canceled at the last minute (sad).

But NO FLURRYING WITH GUNS. NEVER. No.

Although I might want to start testing out the new classes from the playtest. Swashbuckler/duelist anyone?

Also snap shot would be necessary for the build, that way you threaten 5 foot so you can make the AOO from parry. The improved version lets you threaten 15 foot, then enemies with reach wouldnt be a weakness anymore, as you can retaliate their attacks in that range.

What about a feral Alchemist? I believe claws are piercing weapons. Mindchemist and Vivisectionist stack. A couple of potion discoveries and a potion of Greater Magic Fang eliminates the need of an expensive AoMF and frees up the slot for Natural Armor. Probably more stuff there...
