Magaamyan Arcanist or Pathfinder Savant

Advice

Dark Archive

Hello,

My character is a 10th level Air Element Wizard. He is from Magaamyan and is a member of the Pathfinders. I am trying to decide what path to take going forward. He is in the middle of the Shattered Star AP.

I love versatility and both of these prestige classes offer that, one with my pick from other spell lists, and the other from druid. Both classes have nice features.

I am wondering what people think? Its worth mentioning, my character is old age and would not dream of entering melee, so certain spells are less useful to him.

Thanks in advance

PS since this is my thread, if rather than answering me directly you just wanted to compare the classes versatility power drawbacks....that's fine with me too. Just looking for other opinions

I'm more fond of the Pathfinder Savant. I like the druid list, but I'm not That impressed.

I do like the open selection. The only problems are the lost spell level, and I find the spell mastery powers somewhat more powerful than the word based magic...that said, shattered star is a runelord based AP and are runes language based spells?

Don't bother with the prestige classes if you are using Inner Sea Magic. Join the college and you can learn any druid spell as a wizard spell 2 levels higher.
