Paladin level 7 - New Mount?

Rules Questions

When a paladin reaches level 7 should he gain access to all the new mounts that increase size to large at that level? so dont need only use horse or camel but can choose from the other large mounts also then ? (medium sized paladin)

I'm not certain what you're asking. RAW:

Quote:

Upon reaching 5th level, a paladin forms a divine bond with her god. This bond can take one of two forms. Once the form is chosen, it cannot be changed.

...

The second type of bond allows a paladin to gain the service of an unusually intelligent, strong, and loyal steed to serve her in her crusade against evil. This mount is usually a heavy horse (for a Medium paladin) or a pony (for a Small paladin), although more exotic mounts, such as a boar, camel, or dog are also suitable. This mount functions as a druid's animal companion, using the paladin's level as her effective druid level. Bonded mounts have an Intelligence of at least 6.

At 5th level, you get a mount. There's no rule in place that makes alternate mount types available at 7th level. As it is, the options are deliberately left for the GM to decide.

If you're really asking whether the paladin "should" gain access to other mount types, that's a purely subjective opinion more at home in the Advice forum.

The mount functions as druid animal companion, that means there is a bunch of animals that are large at level 7. Question is if all these large animals on level 7 are suitable mounts ? What defines whats a suitable mount ? On level 5 its size and then only horse and camel is large (suitable) but on level 7 the list expands ?

The GM decides what qualifies as a suitable mount. The description is intentionally vague so that the GM takes on the responsibility of deciding. That said, there's no reason to believe that the pool of allowable mounts changes over level. Small characters could theoretically pick from a huge pool of mounts right away, but the rules call out fairly same defaults.

In any case, ask your GM.

blahpers, I think he is asking if Paladin mount options gain the size increase as per normal Animal Companions.

Alfred Dumplepumpkin, yes. At level 7 any Animal Companion that gains a size increase to Large would be *technically* eligible as a mount (assuming it would be eligible for a mount otherwise). After that it would be up to your GM to approve the choice.

Example: at level 7 a Big Cat would become eligible to be used as a Paladin Mount (based on it's new size) but the GM would need to say yes because it is otherwise a non-standard mount.
