To the Paizo Community,
A good friend and thick-as-thieves gamer lost his house to a fire yesterday. He lost everything- bed, stove, pantry, rulebooks, minis, dice, paints, his son's pokemon cards, his son's everything really, pictures of family, his computer, his couch, tv, draperies...
This guy is the poster-child for the Cult of the Bitten-Tongue; so much has flowed away from him in the past decade, this tragedy is simply the foul icing on a poison cake no one wants to eat. He has endured a mountain of setbacks I could not even pretend to want to climb; yet he has always persevered with a smile and a plan.
It sounds stupid when I say it aloud, but anyways, if you have a spare set of dice, a Pathfinder rulebook, or anything else that might say to a stranger, "Hey, it's OK, have fun with this," or even a simple word of encouragement for a guy who is a hardcore gamer both on paper and in real life, please post a goodwill wish here, or PM me if you might be able to give this guy a small material token of good luck. Desna knows he needs it.
Thanks in advance, I'll answer all PMs as soon as I can.

Thanks, PW, I sent you a pm. Awesome to be the first to step up! It's such a tragedy, to have such a community to help out is incredible!
Such gestures are part of what makes this community truly awesome.
If you've got a bestiary or a rulebook floating about, My Man would love to have it back in his possession, errata be damned ;)
He also paints a mean mini, so if you need a job done, pm me or just throw it out here. Arrangements can be made!

Karma is welcome, William! My Man can use every salutation and attaboy available. Thank you for taking a moment to give your support. Please encourage those you know to stop by and offer their spirited support for My Man! It is not hyperbole. We are dealing with real, personal tragedy. Thank you for your intangible support. Not all rewards are physical :)

You folks are fantastic! I'll be sure to pm those who requested such a little later tonight. I'll let my friend know how kind and generous each of you are. Times are tough, and even a simple courtesy post can mean the world to those whose lives have been so irrevocably unhinged.
Kindness is a virtue, thanks to all of you for your kind words and generous souls.

I feel for your friend. I would go nuts if I lost all of my gaming materials.
I think this should serve as a reminder to us all to have Renter's/Home Owner's Insurance. If do you have this type of insurance, make sure you regularly reevaluate the level of coverage you have, to make sure that you have enough coverage for your stuff.
I don't say this to belittle your friends problem, I just think this is a good opportunity to remind people to cover themselves.

PM's away!
You all are so fantastic. My friend has lost it all- dice and books, old campaigns, half-hatched ideas for everything, 3D molds and casts (Which were AWESOME), hand-painted minis, so on and so on.
Even if this is something as "paltry" as gaming, the joy and happiness this is going to restore to one of our own... it's pretty much awesome.
Because of all of you, one simple joy, one small escape from reality is given to one of our own. I can't thank you enough. He's had a Paizo account, though he doesn't frequent the boards. Understandably, things are topsy-turvy for him right now. Once I can get him back on here- or rebooted here- well, you all will take care of things, I'm sure.
In the meantime, I'd like to take a moment to encourage everyone to give what they can to their local homeless shelters, food pantries, and Red Cross auxiliaries. Selflessness is the greatest virtue.

This is my scenery, it's funny my molds survived, all but the top one, they were in a drawer in a bathroom vanity, so the top one was gummed up the rest seemed ok, I only got to go back inside for a few minutes, but with molds I can make more....and will...all my painted pewters melted...I ddidn't think I had enough stuff for renters insurance to be worth it...20 year old McFarlane figures don't really have value, didn't think to add it when my son moved in....live and learn and insure the #%$#@% out of stuff next time...on a lighter note when I do get another place I can move in one trip...with my ford focus...and I'm pretty sure I have a place lined up

....I am utterly speechless....thank you all...
My son and I are both alright, I haven't found the cat, I hold out hope, but know the house was closed up and everything inside melted, so there's more hope than optimism...thankyou...reading this is amazing.
The actually very real "My Friend." Petestrong.

I was looking between my books, but i only have italian ed, those or only one copy of the english ones.
I have a couple of books i can part with though. Can't remember if 3 or 3.5 ed but PM me if you are interested.
Apart from those i'm afraid i can only afford encouraging words, and it hard to think of something appropriate enough when english isn't my first language,so i'll just second what who posted before me has already said.
Best of luck from now on.

You are all awesome! Your generosity is a testament to the things that are good and right and beautiful in this world.
Shelter has been secured, so hooray for that! So much is still in limbo. Another source for Peter in this time of need is a fund-driven project brought to us by another player in our group. Blessings Brent, for putting this together!
If you've got 5 bucks, I'm going to match it to get Peter to $100. If we get there, I'll can match 10$ donations up to $200. This will be for food and heating fuel. Maine's cold this time of year.
Again, the output and generosity of this community is amazing. Your donations and support have really kept one person buoyant in a storm of epic proportion.
