At the start of my campaign I tried to hook int the NPC's as much as possible. Each of the six members were orphans in the town for several years before departing on ventures outside of town for some reason or the other. At the start of our adventure we have them all regrouping after being away for several years.
I presented the PC's with a long list of NPC's and one of them chose Nualia as his significant other. He had a serious relationship with her but had a one-time opportunity to take some work down in Riddleport and left to raise money so that he could return and they could start a family.
What I've tried to do is replace Delek Viskanta with this character. We staged it so that he left
They had a little bit of a fight/falling out with his departure but he insisted that he take the opportunity. He ended up being taken away much longer than anticipated (years) and now has returned to find this ... mess.
Now, the PC is have a terribly hard time coming to grips with this situation and is blaming Tsuto for corrupting her. When he does eventually confront her, what do you think should happen upon seeing this PC again? Is she so far gone that she would want him killed or would there still be a connection?
I'm hoping the PC's don't kill her so she can get away and continue to be an antagonist later on as the drama so far has been awesome!
I had always considered her to be near completely mad at this point. I would seriously doubt there would be a connection on her end...in fact probably much the opposite. Seeing this person after everything that has happened since...would probably cause her to boil over in a blind rage. Lamashtu has a hold of her now and she's not letting go.
I reckon she'd go nuts. On the one hand, she wants him back. On the other, she wants him dead. Or undead. You might apply some barbarian rage effects to her when she sees him.
