Hi guys,
I'm running island of empty eyes, and my players would have a great difficulty (as discussed in previous threads - flash of insight and all that stuff) dealing with all the cyclops (especially Ishtoreth). They risk death (which, in a bad situation, is a one-round affair), are well aware of it, and not really interested in dying fighting them (We play campaigns where character developpement is very important, so death is really-really a downer for a player)
I tought about the possibility of the players negociating with the cyclops in exchange for food (plunder) on a monthly basis in exchange for peace and cohabitation (the cyclops on the plateau and the players on the different beaches).
The cyclops are unaware that the players stole the Eye of Serenity.
What do you think of the idea?
Thank for your opinions,
Dorian

Nothing wrong with that at all. The cyclopes are starving. If it can be shown to them that being nice now equates long term survival, they may well spare the PCs. Maybe have a tense moment of Good cyclops/Bad cyclops where one clearly wants to eat the scrumptious PCs now and the other is willing to consider the idea.
Remember also that there is a team of cylcopes out at sea. Maybe your PCs can recruit them into their fleet...
My group is a long way off from Part 4 yet but I do intend to at least make it an option to parley with the cyclopes, specifically with an end to chronic starvation as the key to success.
Good luck!
