Grove of Respite

Rules Questions

"The area within the grove is temperate and comfortable, like that of a tiny hut, although the grove provides no illumination and provides no protection from the elements."

So if there's a blizzard going on, you aren't protected from it, but the area is temperate and comfortable? How exactly would those two mesh?

Same as drinking booze to try and warm yourself up. You feel nice and warm, but you're still dying of cold.

It kind of fails in comparison to tiny hut, but not a terrible spell. I guess you cast it and then still set up a tent.

Grove of Resprite:
You conjure a sheltered grove of trees surrounding a shallow spring. The grove appears from nowhere even in the most barren, rocky soil regardless of season, but the spell must be cast outside on open ground.

The area within the grove is temperate and comfortable, like that of a tiny hut, although the grove provides no illumination and provides no protection from the elements. The water in the grove's spring is clean and drinkable. Additionally, the trees provide a variety of ripe fruit, regardless of season, which acts as a goodberry spell for up to eight people. The grove is warded with an alarm spell that alerts you whenever any creature enters the area. Once the spell expires, the grove vanishes, including all fruit, water, and other materials from it, although any nourishment or healing gained from its effects remains.

Blizzard:
The combination of high winds, heavy snow (typically 1d3 feet), and bitter cold make blizzards deadly for all who are unprepared for them.

It looks to me like Grove of Respite defines itself by Tiny Hut and then modifies the result. Tiny Hut sais "The hut also provides protection against the elements, such as rain, dust, and sandstorms. The hut withstands any wind of less than hurricane force, but a hurricane (75+ mph wind speed) or greater force destroys it."

The blizzard does this: 1) Wind, 2) Snow, 3) Cold.
The spell gives: 1) Temperature, 2) Water, 3) Trees, 4) Fruit, 5) Alarm.

Weather #1 can be argued to be alleviated by spell item #3.
Weather #2 is not affected.
Weather #3 is covered by spell item #1.

I think this would be a good spell in a blizzard.
