I want to build a truly savage Halfling barbarian using just his weapon but no armor. To do this I had the idea of combining the unarmed fighter to get crane style as bonus feat and the savage barbarian to get bonuses to AC for not wearing armor.
If I add in the cautious fighter feat that add up to some AC that seems at least decent.
I'm looking at dex 16 for +3, size +1, fighting defensively +2, crane style +1, cautious fighter +2, acrobatics +1 for a total AC of: 20
That is naked at level 1 or 2 depending on which class I start with.
I could take the underfoot racial trait for another +1 vs most opponents.
As I will be starting my next pc at level 4 I could build him as fighter 1/barb 3 and would already have +1 dodge bonus from savage barbarian.
His damage will not be too high. But I do not worry very much about this because the rest of the party is not very optimised.
For my level 3 feat I could take either power attack which is not optimal with a single onehanded weapon or risky striker which allows me to deal more damage to large opponents by opening up my defence (which I already do by raging).
In the end the little guy would have a decent AC while not raging but a low one when he goes all out.
What do you think?

You can combine Urban Barbarian and Savage barbarian for Dex Rage which will give you another +2 bonus to AC instead of a -2 penalty. Building of Dex and using Dervish dance or an Agile wepon is likely your best bet as Halfling.
Also there are some cheesy ways to combine Monk and Barbarian (An Aasimar trait which you can pick up via adopted allows you to be monk and not lawful) so you could add your wisdom to AC. Duelist and Kensai could further help your AC by adding your Int Bonus as well.

I really do not want to use urban barbarian for this. I know it would work but it is not what I have in mind for this little bag of fury.
I had thought about using the MMS monk instead of the unarmed fighter by taking adopted to get enlightened warrior but I decided against it.
It would make me more MAD as I already am.
My level 4 build idea up to now:
Str: 16 (incl. +1 for level 4)
Dex: 16
Con: 12
Int: 12
Wis: 10
Cha: 10
Level 1: Savage barbarian 1 Cautious fighter
Level 2: Unarmed fighter 1 Imp. unarmed strike, Crane style
Level 3: Savage barbarian 2 risky striker
Level 4: Savage barbarian 3
What I am thinking about is if I should add in mounted fury for an animal companion.
The rage powers and traits are still open.
