Looking for advice building Ryu from BoF

The title pretty much says it, I'm going to be playing in a mythic campaign with some friends in the next few weeks and not entirely sure how ling it's going to be (mostly due to my own availability) but while brainstorming my GM and I came up with the idea of being raised by a dragon and trained to slay other dragons.

Our first shot was inspired by an Natsu from fairy tail, a monk of the four winds with plans to go into the dragon style feats at later levels. Looked fun but I don't have much luck with monks (the dice hate me).

But then I was reminded of this old game character and thought it might be really fun. Issue being that the character has the ability to become a dragon and is fairly competent in melee... Magus looked good to start but quickly realizing that melee competency and dragon slayer feats cut pretty deep in the Magus' resources so any help/suggestions/inspiration would be greatly appreciated.

Check this very interesting build made by prototype00. It is about a MoMS/MotSM Monk with Dragon and Tiger Style feats entering DD with Dragonic/Empyreal Sorcerer and abusing an (eventually) quickened, intensified, elemental (cold) Shocking grasp as a 5th lvl spell.

You could try playing a Summoner with melee-focused feats and an eidolon patterned after a dragon. With the Synthesist archetype, you could become that dragon instead of summoning it. I get the impression it's a complicated archetype to understand and play, and it's not a perfect representation of Ryu as I remember him, but it's close.

Normally, summoning an eidolon takes a minute. However, if you take the elf-specific favored class bonus for nine levels, you can get the summoning time down to a round. If you don't want to play an elf or half-elf, you can access the elf ACB by playing a human and taking the racial heritage feat. There is also a second level spell that lets you summon your eidolon in a round, but I forget the name.
