Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

Which rulebook is used to decipher the marketplace information on a city?

base value, purchase limit, spell-level, minor, medium, major items

I am curious to find the reference where this is discussed to get a better feel for the intent.

Thanks

This is in the GameMastery Guide, starting on Pg 203. What is it you mean by "decipher?" The numbers essentially describe how much the PCs can expect to spend in a given settlement, what maximum they can sell there at one time, and particular items they might find in the town.

decipher as in .. exactly what does it mean that you have so much purchasing power . my word for it.. which seems to be the first two bits (base value, purchase limit) yet there's also only so many minor/medium/major items.

I just want to read that bit of the rules to make sure I understand what is intended. And I couldn't find the right bits easily.

Thanks for pinpointing them for me.

I hadn't looked through gamemastery guide, I forgot I even owned it honestly.

o wow.. those rules are really clever.

And yes, even after reading the rules that seem so clever, I can see that if you hadn't read those few paragraphs, the bits shown in the statblock are open for a lot of incorrect guess word.

(no doubt on purpose)

So, if you haven't read the rules, the rules are open to be misinterpreted? Okay.jpg

of course

that was the question Mark Hoover asked. he didn't understand my "deciphe" adjective. If you haven't read how they are to be interpreted.. you need the decoder key you know?

anyway, this is good stuff.
