Gnome Alchemist Favored Class

My DM and I are having a heated discussion about how this works, taken from the srd it reads "Alchemist Add +1/2 to the number of bombs per day the alchemist can create."

I say that since it says "the alchemist can create" its alc lvl + int /2.

He says its base lvl /2.

So, how does it work?

(Note: he's the DM and makes the final call on the game but we are arguing the rule and not playing right now)

The alchemist can make a certain number of bombs per day. This is based on the alchemist class itself. That number does not change when you take this Favored Class ability.

If you take the Gnome Favored Class ability twice, you can make one more bomb per day. Four times (total) and you can make two more (total) bombs per day. Etc.

It's really just that simple. Add 1/2 (0.5) bombs per day each time you take the Favored Class ability, drop the fractions.

Every two times you choose that favored class option, add 1 to the number of bombs per day you get.
