Who : PCs can be anywhere between lvls 1 and 5, sub-tiers 1-2 and 4-5.
What : The Mendevian Crusade draws heavily on the Pathfinder Society’s resources, and unless the Decemvirate can secure the assistance of generous patrons, the society may not have sufficient capital both to fight off the demonic invasion and to prepare its expedition to a lost historical site within the Worldwound. Upon hearing that the daughter of an eminent and wealthy of citizen of Sauerton has gone missing, the Pathfinders rush to her aid in the hope of earning her father’s goodwill and support in upcoming endeavors.

James - you still using a 5th lvl char?

If we play High Tier I'll probably have to drop out. I simply can't provide any support as a 2nd lvl front liner in a Hight Tier game. One fireball & I'll go from full HP to Dead on failed save. And without any PP or money for raise dead & two Restorations (About 7000gp plus). And I'll only get low tier money regardless.

On of our othre front liners is only 2nd lvl too. One is 3rd lvl.

Sorry, but only Low Tier for me.

Incorrect, sir, you would get the average between low tier and high tier. Not a bad haul for a level 2 character.

It isn't the tier you played at, it's Out of Tier gold, which is the average between the two subtiers. Basically if you have to play up or down you would the the average of subtiers. So a Level 3 would always get Out of Tier in a 1-5, Level 1-2 PCs get it if they play the higher tier and Level 4-5 PC get it if they play the lower tier.

That was what people were worried would happen. It's all in the new (red) version of the Guide to Organized Play.

No, you get the Out-of-Subtier gold if you aren't actually in the subtier played.

Also, I'm playing a straight-healing life oracle and seeing as you are a frontliner with a level in a d6 HD class, you'll probably be one of the targets of my shield other. If you can't survive through a fireball with a shield other up, then there's some serious problems.

Also if we're fighting a 6th level caster plus support, then you only go from full HP to -CON on a failed save if the caster rolls max on all their dice on a fireball. 7th level caster still has to roll pretty damn good to get you.

If you're worried about being able to contribute offensively, that's a different story, and I really can't help you there (besides that I do some buffing early in the fight depending on how the fight is going). But if you're worried random crits/hp damage killing you, hopefully a 5th level tweaked out healer can help with that. Besides, we're playing up with the 4-person adjustment. We'll most likely have action economy on our side.

Yep -I was concerned about having a front liner build (light Infantry, not tank) contributing.

I use my Transmuter buff to get Str 14. Shield Other would be nice, but I couldn't guarantee that you'd have that spell.

Would I be correct in that since most of the characters would be out of Tier, we'd be playing High Tier, but with reduced opponents (as per 4 member party)?

It will be high tier with 4-player conversion as your APL is in between sub-tiers, but you have a 6 person party. No choice needed!
