It is not often cited by those that would have a loose interpretation of what griefing is, but it is a fundamental requirement of griefing.... "Repeated".
No single act against an individual can be griefing. It does not matter what the motives are, what the outcome is or how the victim felt as a result of the act. Unless it is repeated, without justification, then it was not griefing, it was just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This is my personal view, and it is not in any way trying to suggest that it is correct or that Golgatha should believe the same.

I do not intend to tell people how to avoid being "griefed" or how to avoid "griefing." I purposefully left it defined as such.
Our Zero Tolerance Policy:
1) If a citizen of Golgotha who is currently in good-standing with the city claims he is being harassed we will respond with overwhelming force.
2) If a non-citizen of Golgotha is being harassed within our territory, and is within good-standing with the city, then the Karnathi Immortals or the Keepers of Golgotha will investigate the claims. If the claims are substantiated, we will respond with overwhelming force.
3) Perception is reality. If a substantial number of *Citizens perceive that it is harassment, it is. It will be dealt with accordingly.
Referencing my comment on a more in-depth definition: To clarify, that was to aid those who do not understand the meaning of harassment.

This is a sound policy, and what I like about it most is that it differentiates between the source of the complaint.
"In Good Standing with Us" or "Citizen of Our's" should carry more weight than anyone making an allegation.

One can not hope to prevent all racial slurs/sexist comments flung in a pvp game, but that being said, we will consider it a violation of our lawful nature. The responce to this act will become increasingly aggressive with initial outcomes as simple as a loss of favor.
The exception is sexual harassment. Which will be handled by our zero tolerance policy.
Now if someone calls someone a son of an orc, I belive our reaponse will be to laugh

with the exception of racist, sexist, or otherist slur in chat i hope?
i don´t think this needs repeating to be grieving.
I won't discuss my or UNC policy in this thread, out of respect for the OP. if you wish, you can repost this to one of our threads, and I will gladly respond.

I have to ask: do you consider "in good standing" to be the default state, which is lost by e.g. performing Unsanctioned PvP in your area, or is it a standard that requires positively interacting with you first?
In the thread Golgotha:an invitation of representation, we allowed individuals or CCs to announce themselves to us. Those that did will begin the game with "good standing". The offer still stands until the end of october.

Golgotha has defined "Griefing" as so: Any action that would be considered harassment. For a more in-depth definition, you need merely ask. But I'm sure that individuals that frequent this board have a reasonable definition of Harassment.
Both the term you are attempting to define, and the term you use to define it are meaningless as they are completely subjective and vary excessively from person to person.
As an example, in many work places telling a girl she looks nice today is considered harassment, in others its considered proper gentlemanly behavior.

The Example must include some extra truths.
In many work places telling a girl she looks nice today is considered harassment only if the girl does not like you or find you attractive.
In others its considered proper gentlemanly behavior so long as the girl likes you or finds you attractive.
I think Wulf's statement is pretty clear... The only thing it leaves out is if someone is lying, which they cannot control.
