Building a liberator

Advice

I worked on building a pirate crew recently, and I want one of the people to be a liberator (it fits with the backstory). This is all I've got confirmed for the build. I plan to go liberator at level 6, so I want to work on the first 5 levels.

To give a little bit on the backstory: The character would be a native american type (not mesoamerican, more tribal) who got enslaved by colonials and managed to escape.

Human Liberator

1 Power attack, Stealthy
2
3 Improved sunder
4
5

Beyond that, no Idea. I dont even know what class would be best, though I have some ideas:

1- Fighter: Would allow you to get the most combat feats. But it does make the "stealthy" feat kinda wasted.

2- Ranger: Would fit the best with the backstory (the tribal background implies he would be used know the wilderness better than the colonials), but I cant really see an archetype that would fit well from a mechanical standpoint. The spells (and the animal companion) would be wasted. So maybe a "guide"? Or a wild stalker?

3- A rogue would make full use of the stealthy feat. However, I'm not terribly sure how this would work most effectively.

4- Other ideas?... The only classes that I would go against would be arcane/divine classes, as well as the gunslinger and the cavalier, it just doesnt fit with my background.

Any ideas?

Why would the Stealthy feat be wasted on a fighter? Just build the fighter stealthily. That means:

- a decent DEX (say, 14)
- stick with light armor
- put ranks in it every level.

And if you're playing with traits, pick a trait that grants Stealth as a class skill. The armor training class feature will reduce the armor check penalty -- by level 5, your liberator will be able to wear a masterwork chain shirt with no ACP at all.

Hm, it might work. I'm looking at interesting archetypes now. The mobility fighter (or armor master oddly enough ) could work and give something interesting at the same time.
