Instant Enemy and Hunter's Bond

Rules Questions

Do Instant Enemy and Hunter's Bond work together?

Instant Enemy:
"With this spell you designate the target as your favored enemy for the remainder of its duration. Select one of your favored enemy types. For the duration of the spell, you treat the target as if it were that type of favored enemy for all purposes."

Hunter's Bond:
"This bond allows him to spend a move action to grant half his favored enemy bonus against a single target of the appropriate type to all allies within 30 feet who can see or hear him. This bonus lasts for a number of rounds equal to the ranger's Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). This bonus does not stack with any favored enemy bonuses possessed by his allies; they use whichever bonus is higher."

Wait no. Instant Enemy only lets you treat it as a favored enemy for you.

Scavion, Instant Enemy allows you to treat the target as if it were that type of favored enemy for all purposes.

Step 1: Cast Instant Enemy on a Dragon and declare the Dragon to be your Favored Enemy "Evil Outsider". The Dragon is now your favored Enemy for ALL purposes.

Step 2: Since the Dragon is now your favored enemy (Evil Outsider) for all purposes you may use Hunter's Bond to grant your allies your favored enemy bonus against a single target (the dragon) of the appropriate type (Evil Outsider).

Okay.

I'm only thinking otherwise because it states *You* treat it as your favored enemy for all purposes. You're treating the dragon as an Evil Outsider right now. Grant your evil outsider bonus to your party members now. Its still a dragon for them.

Might be FAQ worthy.

I agree, it is FAQ worthy and that this may even be against RAI.

But, lets look at step 2 further:
A) Is the creature your favored enemy? Yes: proceed to B. No: stop here
B) Assign favored enemy bonus to allies.

Note: they are not treating it as a favored enemy, they simply get the bonus. If they treated it as a favored enemy then Instant Enemy would not apply since they cannot treat a Dragon as an Evil Outsider.
