hello pathfinder and fans!! i am looking for a commission artist to bring my vision to life! i love pathfinder and their artwork so id prefer it to be at least similar to their amazing art, I'm not into that anime japan style stuff. ill give details when i hear what you all have to say, this character means a great deal to me, and it may be in November when the transaction would be made =] please let me know!
You want a drawing of your character that you can use for a tattoo? Or are you offering a tattoo in exchange for the artwork?
If the latter, are you or is someone you know a tattoo artist who will perform said tattoo or are you going to actually remove a tattoo from your body (or the body of another) with a Xacto (tm) knife and mail it to the artist in question?
If the former, then what manner of exchange to you have to offer for the artwork in question?

Many of the artists who illustrate for pathfinder have deviant art pages - some of them also work on commission.
How much is pretty much up to the artist but I'd expect a fair price of 150+ per illustration depending on size and complexity.
The (my opinion of course) way to get what you want is to go browse the artists work and find one that works in a style you love. And if that artist doesn't have a commission page? Send them an email! Worst they can do is say no - and if an artist says they can't/don't have time - be happy - not many are so busy they can refuse work (looking at you Wayne Reynolds!)
This goes critically double for something you want to put on your body permanently.
i know lol.i looked into waynes page first but hes overbooked and does not do art unless published. im still looking into artists here but i know a good deal of fans are also good with portraits- i will pay for a nice picture although if its not what im wanting exactly ill just continue my search.

Is this PC retired from play?
Otherwise, I'd say hold off.
As a GM, I would feel seriously weird and awful for killing a PC that someone had permanently emblazoned on their skin.
That's a weird place to take the social contract. I'm no killer GM, but I like to think there is a real element of risk in my campaign, and knowing about this kind of commitment to a single PC would definitely screw with my impartiality.
If you do go through with it, maybe don't tell GMs before they run for that PC (probably not possible if you game with close friends) ... or else, make a pact with someone right now that when your cherished character's number is up (if ever), you will bear it with solemn dignity.
Maybe your style of play precludes any such problem arising, but in the event you were merely distracted by tattoo lust and blind to the possible consequences, I felt the need to speak up.
yes this character is retired, and my GM is my fiance, he understands why im doing this. =] it will not be a larger portrait then 3 fingers so i can place it where it wont be an inconvenience.
i have an array of tattoos so im merely adding to my canvas but no worries, i put great thought into the work i have done.
Maybe i can ease the thought by giving a bit of background.
First, my character is a halfling woman (so it couldn't be that big anyway)=] and i actually started kinda in a mocking way with my fiance who had always been a fan. (i used to think the typical stereotype about it all) but by now, have had her running in campaigns for the better part of a year.
And im possibly even more of a fan then him at this point!
I based her off everything i had wanted to be in life, and through my ups and downs she had hers.
(in real life, ive had 4 surgery's, panic attacks and PTSD. alot of medication,stress, and im only 21)
she became my way to forget about it all and be able to do things impossible (thank you pathfinder)
i finally let that character go, so i could play all sorts of aspects, but that is why ive chosen this one to have permanently placed.
that is the best part of life for me. im unable to work, or go out to do many things.
