When suffering from an Infernal Wound such as that inflicted by a Bearded Devil, if a caster makes a successful caster check to heal that wound, is the wound still considered to be Infernal, or is it now a normal wound?
I'm aware the bleed damage stops after the first successful caster check. I'm asking if, to heal up any remaining damage dealt by that wound, casters need to continue making checks just to heal it.

The damage a bearded devil deals with its glaive inflicts persistent wounds that cause 2 points of bleed damage. Bleed caused from an infernal wound is particularly difficult to stanch—a DC 17 Heal check stops the damage, and any attempt to heal a creature suffering from an infernal wound must succeed on a DC 16 caster level check or the spell does not function. Success indicates the healing works normally and stops all bleed effects on the victim. The infernal wounds caused by a bearded devil are a supernatural ability of the devil, not of the weapon.
I can see it being read both ways, but I prefer to err on the side of the players i.e. when you stop the bleeding the infernal wounds effects are also gone. In effect I consider it a rider on top of the bleed. Once the bleeding stops the caster level check is no longer required.
