Pathfinder Society Legal - Psionic "themed" character build

Pathfinder Society

Hello All,

From the little research I've done so far, Psionics is not (yet) legal for Pathfinder Society play or will likely be anytime soon.

My goal is to help a friend build a Psionic "themed" Warrior character using as many psionic related skills, class abilities, feats, etc as possible.

A sorcerer specializing in Divine or Enchantment seems well suited but really weak.

So far it seems an arcane casters cantrips "mage hand" (which is essientially a weak version of telekineses) and "daze" (a weak version of mind control) seems like a no brainer.

The divine spell caster Knowledge Domain seems like an excellent fit with the Clairaudience/clairvoyance ability/spell. This seems better suited as a support ability and not so much as Warrior.

A mage specializing in Transmutation, supported with Enchantment and Divinition schools seem like a possibility...

any other suggestions?

I don't think the current psionics system will ever be legal for PFS since it isn't a paizo publication. I don't think we will see psionics in PFS unless paizo ever decides to publish their own system. Which they have said they have no current plans to do.

You are not really going to get the same feel from the legal caster classes. But the spontaneous casters are probably as close as you can come to the feeling. I don't think the prepared casters witch, wizard, and cleric feel like psionics at all.

Summoner for the one that creates ectoplasmic creatures to do his fighting.

Inquisitor is probably as close as you can get for the psionic warrior.

Sorcerer or oracle could probably fit for any of the other psions depending upon mystery or bloodline.

Can't really have sorc specializing in divine spells. Though the razmiran priest can fake it. But I don't think that is giving you what you want.

I disagree that and enchantment sorc is weak. Enchantments can be potentially very powerful. But you need to pump your DC's since there is usually no effect on a successful save. Also may want the feats/bloodlines to let you hit more things with your enchantments.

Liberty's Edge 5/5

Oracle, Deaf, automatically gets Silent Spell metamagic feat.

Sorcerers automatically get Eschew Materials.

If you combine those, with Still Spell and Spontaneous Metafocus feat, you can mimic casting as a mental action rather than a casting action.

Additionally, if you find any races you like that have a decent set of spell-like abilities (Aasimar and Gnomes are the races that don't require boons). The list is small, but SLA's don't require somatic, verbal, or material components.

Some additional options from the Advanced Race Guide might add a small set of spells to the SLA spell list.

If you want to use dreamscarred presses psionics your best bet is to do a homegame imo. Magus and Oracle would be my two go to for flavor and mechanics. Magus does a job of blending magic and swordplay and oracle can do a variety of things including battle cleric and caster. Both can also be played as honing your mind and have magical talents to back up the aspects without a connection to an external source such as a deity.
