Hello everyone, has anyone tried the new version of Warhorn V2. Do you like it??
Are their any simple guides or instructions for a slow minded Admin (Me)?
I have been frustrated trying to find a "lost" user.
I like warhorn V1 and like the changes I have seen so far.
Chris.
I like the new version, what do you mean by a "lost" user?

If someone already pust a class and level in I can't figure out how to change it later but keep my same spot in line. I like to the keep the organizers informed but not at the price of dropping onto a waiting list.
Otherwise I love it.
When signed into the event page, click on your personal schedule. Then go to the event you wish to edit the details on and their should be a link next to it to change your character details.

Well he signed up but doesn't appear on my side.
Make sure he actually registered for your event and not just signed up for warhorn v2. A lot of people seem to miss the fact that you sign up for warhorn v2 and then have to register for each different event with the same sign in..

Putting in your class and level helps other players choose which of their characters to bring.
This is worth mentioning, because a lot of people seem to love either omitting it for no reason or entering in a "Light Infantry" class or similar. Granted, sometimes it's worth omitting if you don't know yourself what character to play.

Sign Up Got Confirmation Can Not Access Site to Sign in to Games or to GM
Make sure that, after signing up for the site, you've registered for the event you want to attend. After that, you should be able to sign up for individual games (either as a GM or a player). There's currently no indication that you need to do that, but in an email with the site owner he indicated that he would look into putting a message in the place where the "Play" and "GM" buttons are to indicate you have to register for the events.
It's a work in progress, but it's finally got all the functionality of the old v1 site, and then some.

Avatar, sometimes "Light Infanty" is more useful. Especially when dealing with multiclass wierdos. (Like me)
(Ceiling climbing gecko riding bard alchemist is not really well conveyed by the bard or alchemist class descriptions. Likewise, my barbarian who specializes in getting across the battlefield quickly so he can drop in and say hi to the enemy mage, is probably more usefully described as "skirmisher")
That said, *please* post the levels

The "search for events" took isn't on the first page, you have to find it.
The search function isn't very good. I know there's a regular game in new paltz, in the october country store but unless you know that its part of the upstate NY pathfinder group it doesn't show up in the search for new paltz, october country.
Google for some reason isn't picking up on the version 2 warhorn yet. (googles been a little wonky for me in general lately)

Unfortunately - right now - it is a manual process to recreate your scenario descriptions in v2 - there is not global import process.
You also cannot move over your play history and it will be removed after they shut down v1 at the end of January - if you want user and session history you will need to export it using the "ticket Export" for session data, and the "Envelope Export" for user data. You cannot import it into v2 though.
You can find both export options under "Attendees" page in v1.

Under V1, we used to indicate venue by prepending a 2- or 3-letter code on the scenario name. Now that we're on V2 with its built-in venue support, I went in and entered all the scenario data. I took a few hours (3 or 4), but all scenarios are now available for everyone to select when they're setting up their gamedays.
That's a vast improvement over the old site by itself. The biggest problem I've run into is that people consistently fail to realize that they have to register for an event after signing up for the site.
I have gotten used to the calendar look.
Calendar view is now in V2, but it has to be enabled at the event level.

Putting in your class and level helps other players choose which of their characters to bring.

So, I've got a character with 2-3 classes. Which one do I put in?
Archer / Artillery for some.
Light Infantry for others - it means "Not a Tank", damage-focused build that might be assumed to be a tank if I don't tell you this instead. Could be a TWF ranger, or a monk, or a brawler fighter (or the brawler fighter could be tanky.... or the monk could be tanky.... and a zen archer.... and .... )
Expecting class-based signups to be communicative is something I don't understand - you can build too many different roles out of the same classes in PFRPG, let alone multiclassing.

My Holy Vindicator is a tough one to call. He's got two levels of Fighter, 4 levels of cleric, and 5 levels in his prestige class.
He casts spells like a 7th level cleric, and hits like a 7th level fighter. His AC gets up there with Vidicator's Shield, but it would be better if he hadn't spent some money on resurrections.
So he's an 11th level character that I can't justify calling a Fighter 11 or Cleric 11 on the Warhorn, because people will expect him to bring something he doesn't bring. Thus I tend to go with Tank 11.
