I hadn't seen anything around about prestige classes(Although I don't follow that closely), has there been any word about them? I know that PFO is planned to be more skill oriented like EVE but is there going to be anything like Prestige classes? I still love my Shadowdancer and such, I was wondering how feasible it would be to build a character like that.
And to a further extent would it be possible to build say an Arcane Trickster with just base skills in PFO, such as take a few Rogue skills and some Wizard skills?

Given we will not have all the core classes from the start I think prestige classes are a ways out, but then, so is the training level it will take to achieve most of them.
I have no doubts there will be some effective hybrids, and I wouldn't be surprised to see an "arcane tricker" type character be one.

Just make them normal training, with a requirement of having training in the 2 other paths (classes)
Agree, it should be prestige abilities, not classes as such.
There should also be other requirements than skills (ie. alignment, deeds, faction standing). And the trainers/buildings should be hard to unlock (settlement DI's, alignment, special buildings).
Assassination has already been talked about.

Well all the core classes work somewhat like prestige classes now. You meet training requirements to advance, instead of gaining power from advancing.
I would assume a prestige class would just be a role that takes a bit more training before you can use it. For instance an arcane tricker might require a mix of rogue and arcane skills along the order of magnitude of a 5th level character in a core class, to reach the first level.

If something like Prestige Classes are put into the game, I would expect them to be a special Skill Branch that simply has high Prerequisites in the component Role Skills.
It seems like it would certainly be possible to create Prestige Class Dedication Bonuses, too.
Although I very much enjoyed the process of rolling up a Wizard and a Paladin in PFRPG - I really love the Alternate Class Features - I don't have nearly enough experience to brainstorm actual Dedication Bonuses or Prerequisites.
