I've been reading the number of Lyre of Building threads, our high level campaign (Level 17) has begun using Ultimate Campaign and downtime actions and I was curious if the Lyre of Building could aid in freshening up the location my character calls home. Many levels ago he acquired a Lyre of Building and so as he leveled I bought Perform (Stringed Instruments). He has never really had a chance to do anything with the magic item, but as the Wizard spends many days upgrading out kit this lowly fighter needs something to do. He has Leadership, and so a plethora of followers, he built a home for him and his Cohort wife, a small Thorp outside of Oppara, so increasing the size to a Hamlet by moving in his entourage that lived in a nebulous undefined space. The DM mentioned needing the skills to use Lyre of Building effectively, so as he leveled he got those as well.

How would this magic item interact with Capital? Does it surpass spending limits per day of the area? Are there any rules for downtime and magic items such as this, or do they simply not really work within the confines of Ultimate Campaign book?

Does my character need to provide the tools necessary? He has a Type IV bag of holding, and the strength to carry it, but if picks, axes and shovels effects are provided by the magic item it would be nice not to have to have 100 picks, 100 adzes, 100 axes, 100 shovels ad nauseum. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in understanding this magical item and the new Ultimate Campaign opportunities.
