Seriously. we need a sticky "compare APs" thread!

I tried to open a thread like this in the website feedback section of the massageboards, but it got completely ignored so I'm trying again in a more populated district :P

Now, Iv'e been hanging around these boards for a couple of years now, and every now and then, inevitably, a new AP comparison thread will appear. Sometimes it's a GM who wants to know which AP suits his/her specific needs. Sometimes it's a season AP veteran who feels like comparing, dissecting and discussing the APs in comparison to one another. Whatever the specific reason is for opening each of these threads, they will continue to appear. There will always be new GMs, there will always be GMs who have just recently discovered the massageboards. Without creating a sticky thread, we can count on more and more of those being created over time.

The way things worked up to this point was that a new thread will appear, many of the forum regulars will given good, helpful opinions, and the thread will disappear a week later, only to be replaced within a short time by another identical thread.
How long until those people get tired of retyping the same thoughts over and over again? how long until people who open these threads just get short, impatient "look up the other 5 million threads of the same subject, friend" responses?

It's more constructive to have a sticky thread, honestly. That way, if a GM new to APs wants to know "which AP has the best dungeons?", "Which AP is suitable for kids?", "which APs to avoid?", "how hard is it to convert 3.5 era APs?", "which AP is considered overall best?", "where can one find urban APs?", "is there an AP suitable for evil PCs?" or a hundred other slight variants of basically the same question ("which AP is best for me?"), they already have a wealth of information provided by knowledgeable people about the subject. They'll have pages upon pages of comparisons, of debates and of opinions to mine for an answer to their question.

My argument boils down to: AP comparison threads are going to keep on popping up, and therefore there's a need for a constant, obvious place for people to pile up all the relevant information. That way when someone feels like asking which AP is best for X, they can just post the question in the sticky thread, or even maybe find an answer to that question earlier in the thread.

very good idea!

in my experience people never get tired of stating their opinion or advice about the same thing over and over again:) i know at work when a new person comes aboard i'm like "great someone that hasn't heard the same jokes and stories i've been telling for years!" this is the same for most people, a fresh audience to tell the same stories and jokes they've been telling for years

i didnt say that to insult anyone thats just how human nature works and their is nothing wrong with it:)

Sure, but for the good of those actually asking for the advice... it should be recorded in a place that's obvious and easy to reach.
