Are these 2 magus concepts 'viable'?

Advice

Title says it all. Got two Magus concepts I'm looking into curious if anyone's done yet, or what not. One of them (the second) I'm considering for a PFS character.

First concept: Myrmidarch Magus -> Arcane Archer. Seems like it'll work on paper, but I'm not entirely sure how well the Arcane Archer runs. This one's for home games.

Second concept: This one's a bit more complicated, specially since I'm looking for it to be a PFS character. Tiefling Magus (Blade Bound/Fiend Flayer/Spell Blade). Basic idea is to never be without a weapon, with more of a focus on the martial aspect rather than the spells...

However, what makes this one complicated would be the fact that I want to wield twin whips (or scorpion whips). This idea got inspired by the Bolrok (or Balor in D&D) from LotR, the visual of a tiefling wielding a whips of blood and shadow. Spellblade archetype got added on later when I was thinking the character would prefer to never be without a weapon in any situation (and not have to wait until 6th for Fiend Blade discovery or 9 for the Black Blade's ability).

So, yeah... Concept one will take until 8th level to get into Arcane Archer. Concept two's probably better suited to home games, but he sounds fun and I'd really like to run him in PFS (read somewhere on here you don't need to unlock the tieflings anymore. Can't DL the guide just yet to check since I'm on a neighbor's net and they're near their data cap =\...).

Edit: Ahem. I should clarify by 'viable'.

Concept one: Viable as in combat viability.

Concept two: Viable as in 'would this fly well at a PFS table?'
