Cure and check rolls

The blessing say to add dice to a check. When you play Cure and roll 1d4+1 to determine how many cards are put back in your deck, is it concidered a ''check'', can you use a Blessing?

To date, is there anything that can boost the cure effect (other than having 3 cure spells go off back to back?

I use the cure spell to soak up my "1" rolls so that I don't get them as often on the really important rolls, like for bosses. -_-

The only way to cure more than 1d4 + 1 cards at a time SO FAR in the game is to use Kyra's power after she's added a +1 Power feat to it. In later adventures I'm sure there will be stronger cure spells.
