How This Works:
For those who've never played a text-based adventure before, I'll explain.

There will be a post describing a room or something. It will end with a prompt (>). At the prompt, you enter the command for what you'd like to do. Here's an example:

First Poster wrote:

You are walking through a dark alley. There is a lantern on the ground.

>
Second Poster wrote:
> get lantern

Rules:
Keep it clean and appropriate.

Guidelines:
  • Don't post a command and a response in the same post
  • Let someone else post the response to your command, and vice versa
  • Try to preserve adventure continuity
  • Don't do stuff I wouldn't do but have forgotten to mention
  • Don't forget your prompts!

Let's begin!

You are sitting at your desk at work. There is a computer on the desk. The monitor shows boring financial reports.
>

> throw computer

Response time on this app is terrible.

Throw the computer at what?
>

> throw computer out window

Picking up the computer, you throw it out the window. *CRASH*

You are sitting at your desk at work.

You pick up the phone and flip through your Rolodex. Finding the number for FreeholdDM, you call FreeholdDM. The phone rings.

A voice comes over the line. The voice says, "Hey. Bored. Let's go burn stuff."

Liberty's Edge

Feel free to post response posts, everybody! Just follow the conventions established above...

*CRASH*

You are now holding a flamethrower.

Your boss says, "Okay, be sure you're back on time."

You pack up your things and hit the road, Jack. You are now in a big, dirty city where houses are being sold for $1. There is a hot dog stand nearby.

Liberty's Edge

>beat up guy at hot dog stand

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The guy at hot dog stand turns out to be a ninja, and easily breaks your arms and leaves you crying in the street. Game over.

You are sitting at your desk at work. There is a computer on the desk. The monitor shows boring financial reports.

The computer is now off.

You are now standing.

You head north. You are standing in the north part of your office building. There is a water cooler here. Bob and Tom are discussing office politics.

Getting a cup from next to the coffee machine, you whip up a delicious Molotov cocktail. You are now carrying a Molotov cocktail.

Treppa, Agent of C.H.A.O.S wrote:

I'm assuming you meant "go to park". You are now in the park. There is a balloon-seller standing nearby, and a child is crying due to not having enough money for a balloon.

You dance around happily, attracting the attention of four or five park-goers and one grumpy-looking policeman.

Freehold DM wrote:

You are not in a building.

Freehold DM wrote:

You head west. The park-goers slowly wander off, and the policeman eyes you suspiciously but does not follow.

Thank god. I don't want to have to answer questions about why I have a flamethrower.

You are now in a forest which borders the park. The park is north. There is a path visible to the west. There is a pile of acorns here.

Treppa, Agent of C.H.A.O.S wrote:

You laugh heartily.

The dense undergrowth prevents travel in that direction.

Freehold DM wrote:

You now have some acorns.

There is no shopkeeper here.

You do not have a balloon.

You are in a tree. Down from here is the forest. There is thick foliage on all sides.

You spot a squirrel hiding an acorn.

The squirrel does not seem to appreciate being kissed, and scampers off.
