Out of Subtier Gold in S5 scenarios

In S0-S4, Out of Subtier gold is always the average of the high and low subtiers. In S5, chronicle sheets specify the OOS gold. On those chronicle sheets, is it always the average of high and low subtier gp, or is it possible for it to be a different value?

The reason I ask is that I'm working up a spreadsheet to calculate available subtiers, day jobs, and gold rewards. If S5 is consistent with S0-S4, it takes a couple fairly complicated functions out of the mix.

The Exchange 4/5

from the 3 season 5's I've done, it appears to be the same calculation as 0-4

Thanks!

Ok, I'm being extra slow this week - (it feels like another monday today).

I need to better understand when a PC get's Out of Subtier Gold.

if a PC is 3rd level, and plays in a Tier 1-5 scenario (say 5-01 Glass River Rescue)
a) at sub-tier 1-2, does he get the listed "Out of Subtier Gold"?
b) at sub-tier 4-5, does he get OoS Gold?

Silver Crusade 4/5

A level 3 PC playing in a 1-5 adventure always gets out of subtier gold, regardless of which subtier was played. His level's not in the 1-2 subtier, and it's not in the 4-5 subtier, so he's clearly out of subtier either way.

@nosig:

A PC gets the out of sub-tier gold whenever the PC level is different than the sub-tier being played.

a 1st to 3rd level PC will get oos gold if they play at sub-tier 4-5.
A 3rd to 5th level PC will get oos gold if they play at sub-tier 1-2.

3rd level PCs always get oos gold in Tier 1-5 scenarios.
5th level PCs always get oos gold in Tier 3-7 scenarios.
7th level PCs always get oos gold in Tier 5-9 scenarios.
9th level PCs always get oos gold in Tier 7-11 scenarios.

Note that this applies to GM credit for PCs, as well, now.

And for those pesky 1-7 scenarios?

I'd imagine a level 5 would get the average of 3-4 and 6-7?

I almost wish we'd just go ahead and retire every 1-7 scenario simply to be rid of all the special-case crap they bring up.

that's what I thought... curses! that means I have to look up the judge for my last game (5-01). I made the mistake of playing it with a 3rd level, at Sub-tier 1-2, and got the gold marked as 1-2 gold.... sigh. I hate having to go back and bother the judge for corrections. :(

The only issue is there are several that have good stories IMO.

Among the Living, City of Strangers (both parts), Before the Dawn, Shadow's Last Stand, Devil We Know, Voice in the Void, etc...

That would get rid of a LOT of good plot/story arcs just to remove a minor inconvenience.

The idea is fairly straight forward, if the language isn't 100% (I guess):

If the character being played is not in the subtier being played at the table, then they get OOT gold.

OOT gold is the average of the tier being played and the next closest tier that character would be a part of.

So, in a 1-7, a 1st or 2nd level character playing at a 3-4 subtier table would get the average of subtier 1-2 and 3-4 gold. If a 5th, 6th or 7th level character was playing at that same table, they would get the average of the subtier 3-4 and 6-7 gold.

The problem isn't the 1-7s, it's the people who have to have everything spelled out for them. The ones that bother to read the rules in the first place, anyway. :-/

Grand Lodge 4/5

A 5th level would always get some sort of OOT gold for playing in a Tier 1-7 scenario. Since he can only play it at sub-tier 3-4 or 6-7, he should always get the average gold between those two sub-tiers.

Third and fourth level PCs playing a Tier 1-7 is the potentially ugly case. If they do not play it at sub-tier 3-4, they get the average gold between whichever sub-tier they played it at and the 3-4 sub-tier.

GM credit would be the same for a 5th level whether the Tier is 3-7 or 1-7, it would be the average between 3-4 and 6-7 in either case.
