If I use wisdom as my ki pool do my abilities run off wisdom or charisma

If I take 4 levels of monk and decide to use Wisdom as my main KI pool stat are all my ninja abilities now using 1/2 level +wisdom for things like assassinate, and ninja tricks and such?

No, having a ki pool from monk levels does not in and of itself change any of your ninja abilities. You would have a WIS based ki pool from your monk levels, & a CHA based ki pool from your ninja levels, though.

No. Nice idea though.

Only things that says it lets you switch the modifier is ki pool.

then why would any body want to multiclass to monk for 4 levels to base your KI pool off wis instead of CHA if all your main ninja abilities use CHA?

You get one ki pool, and can choose which ability modifies it. Once you choose, you are stuck with your choice.

Because your monk defensive abilities, and your will saves are still wisdom based?

To make a Monk that multi-classes 2 levels of Ninja and have more Ki. Or because wisdom=Perception, Will Saves, Wisdom Bonus to AC (When un-armored/encumbered), etc. Charisma=Social Skills, Ninja stuff, not much else.

You'd make the choice that fits you best. If you were a Zen Archer dipping 2 or 4 levels of Ninja or some tricks you'd take WIS every time.

I think you'll find you don't get the Assassinate ability off as much as you'd like. I wouldn't base my decision entirely on that...

2 levels of ninja wont get you more ki. The ki pools stack in a distinct way, see amethal's post. You dont gain anything to your ki pool by gaining a ki pool from another class over just going straight monk.

No... the only thing that you get to choose is to what bonus adds to the total Ki Pool. A monk adds his Wisdom bonus and a Ninja adds charisma.

A Monk/Ninja gets to choose one and only one, but the choice made is ONLY for determining the total amount of points. Your Monk abilities continue to act from Wisdom, and your Ninja's from Charisma regardless of the choice made. Both however draw from the same pool of points.
