Eidolons and undead

Advice

So here is a question that came up that could totally hose the Summoner class. When a shadow drains creature of strength it dies and becomes another shadow. Meaning when it's str reaches zero it's hp automatically go to its negative con.
So the question; what happens when an Eidolon is drained of str and dies? When Eidolons die they are unsummoned and can be resummoned in 24 hours with 1/2 their hps restored. But they do heal any conditions placed upon them. Such as poisons, stat damage or drains.
So when that Eidolon is resummoned, does it show up for a round with it's str at zero and dead, because a shadow did it, and them poof away, each time you summon it?
Does it stay a shadow forever haunting the plane from which it originated? Hunting the living for all eternity.
We actually had this issue at a table at a table last week.

Also as Eidolons are outsiders they can not be true resurrected, unless the Summoner can share that spell with them?

Thoughts? Also sorry if someone had already asked this question and it had been answered elsewhere please supply the link to me. The future of Eidolons and Summoners at my groups gaming table hangs in the balance.

... Did someone just divide by 0?

I have no idea what the answer is, but I'm pretty sure your eidolon comes out okay... somehow... because that's the only logical way to do it.

The answer is the summoner casts Purified Calling (or buys a scroll of it) to fix the attribute damage, your bigger problem is a wraiths Con Drain, as Purified calling does not fix that.

Thanks, I didn't even know about that spell. Our Summoner can sleep soundly now.

Citation?

Bestiary 1 "A shadow's touch deals 1d6 points of Strength damage to a living creature. This is a negative energy effect. A creature dies if this strength damage equals or exceeds its actual strength score."

Core Rule Book "Dead: When your character's current hit points drop to a negative amount equal to his constitution score or lower, or if he succoummbs to massive damage, he's dead."

This FAQ addresses the issue of eidolons killed by ability drain.

Remember also that the eidolon does not heal naturally. Just like hit point damage, any ability damage or drain the eidolon has persists between when it is banished/dismissed/killed and when it is resummoned. The exception is an eidolon killed by Con damage (which, if resummoned, would still be at 0 Con and immediately die and vanish); in this situation, the resummoned eidolon is cured of 1 point of ability damage or drain so the amount of damage or drain is 1 less than its actual Constitution score, allowing it to live.

That shows that having HP=negCON causes you to be dead, not the other way around. Even the rule you cited lists a possible death condition other than having negCON hit points.

Wow, I need to read some of there rules more thoroughly. Thanks a lot everyone for your help. I think will ease that players mind.
