Basic Cards & Half Plate

Page 21 of rulebook states that characters start with only cards with the Basic trait. Kyra and Seelah's suggested deck list on the same page lists Half Plate as Armor, but that card is not basic, it shows as elite. Is that a typo?

My plan is to allow characters to either use the pre-built decks as listed exactly... or they can build their own unique deck with only basic cards. This gives the "package gear" some advantages over the built gear for a couple of characters.

But I do think they should probably be swapped with Chainmail like Valeros has. It does not really make sense that the cleric would have better armor at start then the fighter IMO.

This seems a very likely hypothesis. It's been on my list of errata for a while, but I haven't decided which way I want to errata it.

Yea, Harsk also has the Starknife on his list, but that is an Elite item.

Thanks for the catch. We had to make an array that somehow allowed all the characters to be built at once, and it's not surprising that we didn't quite make it work. We'll get that into an FAQ.

Which puzzles me because not only is it elite its a strength/melee based weapon. He'd be better off with a dagger.

There are only two Daggers in the Base Set, and Valeros and Merisiel beat him to them.
