I have a wizard for PFS play that just earned enough XP to reach level 2. PFS allows you to rebuild anything before playing at 2nd level, so my question is what to do about my bonded item.
I've decided to go with a bonded item to simplify things, even if there's a bigger risk if it's lost or destroyed.
What would be the best type of bonded item among the following: Ring, Amulet, or Staff/weapon?

Out of those 3, I would probably do the amulet. Too many cool rings out there, and I've heard people argue about a staff needing to be wielded 2 handed, thus making spell casting difficult. You should check with your GM to see their stance on that.
Personally, I would roll with a wand. Always has a free hand, and you can enchant it over and over to be your wand of magic missles, acid arrow, fireball, whatever...

If you go with a wand (or staff), it's hard to hold a Metamagic Rod and also cast spells. I usually plan to rely on rods, which means I need one hand for spellcasting and one for the rod, so no bonded item that occupies a hand.
That leaves me with rings or amulets. I usually go with ring because it's very hard to lose it, and if you find a cool ring in a treasure hoard, you can always put that cool one on your other hand (if you have a bonded amulet and find a cool amulet, you can't equip your cool new item).
Then again, if you find two cool rings, you're out of luck.

Thanks for the suggestions! It seems like a ring or an amulet could both be good choices. Both can be hidden or disguised as "normal" to some degree (like if the guards are confiscating all weapons and wands, etc.) I was concerned about the need to hold something else, occupying a hand you'd otherwise need for casting.
In PFS, you don't really just get to keep treasure you find - you can use it during the adventure, but must then purchase it (if you can) afterwards. At least for a long time, it seems like you end up buying enhancements for items rahter than finding and then buying a specific item. That makes the decision a little easier, I think.
