I think the voice is telling us we have to get out of this dungeon for some fresh air. Sounds like good advice to me.

Any "Tree" symbols in here?

Schism: There are no tree symbols to be seen.

Okay.

*Goes bact to the junction and goes down the other hall.*

Sovereign Court

Schism: Alrighty then, The 20' wide passageway heading northeast for 50' comes to a T intersection 50'.
This passageway also about 20' wide and bisected by a 3' wide river of the now famous black liquid. Heading left/west leads you back into the whirlpool room.

The passageway heads right/east for 80', 40' down the hall on the northside is a passageway, You also notice the river is changing color to a lighter tone.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Maybe Nasty should taste it again.

NO! Not until he fulfills the orders of the devower.

*Heads down the northside passage.*

Sovereign Court

The walls of this 30' wide x 50' long room are ivory. They're lined with tall white ivory trees. The tree limbs are thin but reach almost to the 50' tall ceiling. Hundreds of white butterflies perch in the branches, beating their wings slowly and steadily.

Against the north wall sits the ghostly image of the Orc you saw earlier in the whirlpool room surrounded by a clutter of ivory fragments and broken bones. The image is bright blue, except for 2 black holes opening in it's head where it's eyes should be. The image is writing on a piece of ghostly parchment with a ghostly feather pen. My Eyes it moans in a thin squeaky voice. Bring me my eyes...

"where are your eyes Dad?" nasty says as he walks into the room.

Sovereign Court

Nasty: Upon hearing a voice, The figure gropes the air in front of him. Interview Subjects he exclaims Would you mind answering a few questions?

"Depends what we get if we get it right... or wrong."

"Yeah what she said. Jenny is smarter than me."

Sovereign Court

The spirit looks at you all seemingly confused and continues scrawling on his parchment and mumbles about his lost eyes.

"What questions you want answers? Where your eyes me can find dem."

[whisper]Unless you already ate them.[/whisper]

Who are you? - Have you any pets? - Do you have a favorite song?

Let me look into that for you#Bad pun he then grabs a random pair of 1d2 ⇒ 2 ivory fragments from the pile around him and puts them in his head where his eyes should be. The objects fall through his head and clatter to the floor. Sorry he mutters

"I am nasty orc, I have no pets Mama says I would just eat them. My favorite song is "He shall Eat them all." a happy song about the Devourer eating everything. "

Sovereign Court

Nasty: As you answer his questions, He scrawls on the parchment. What day is it? - What country am I in?? - What is the best way to prepare a wugaloo?

"It's today, you're in Ludicria, and wugaloo meat is sort of sticky, so a parfait does it the most justice. What else?"

if he does not respond to Jenny's answers Nasty decides he will need to translate. Which he does by saying what she said only a lot louder.

Sovereign Court

The spirit will continue asking disjointed questions and with each answer he will scrawl on his parchment. All the while mumbling about his lost eyes.

"If you tell me where eyes lost I can find for you."

2 people marked this as a favorite.

NASTY. GIVE YOUR DAD YOUR EYES. HE NEEDS THEM. IT'S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO FOR THE GUY THAT ORGASMED IN ORDER TO CREATE YOU.

Sovereign Court

Nasty: Even with your..ahem limited intelligence, you can see that this spirit is quite insane and blind, however he waves his hand towards the east.

What do I see when I look east?

Schism:Using your super ranger/rogue skills, you come to the conclusion that the spirit must mean the eastern passageway.

*Follows the eastern passageway.*

Sovereign Court

Schism: The passageway meanders in a northeasterly direction before ending at an orange door that smells of orange and mint. Through the door you hear the sounds of loud rumbling, as of boulders striking the ground, interspersed with hisses and low grunts.

Check For Traps: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19

Sovereign Court

Schism: You find no traps

Well, that was a relief.

Sorry about the silence on my part, i can appease my dragon ancestors and help with the group at the same time.

I OPEN THE DOOR.

AMH: I will address this on monday as I left my notes at work.

Ok here we go: The packed earth floor of this huge granite cavern(200' x 200') is lit by the soft green glow of fungus covering the walls. Thick granite stalagmites rise from the floor; long stalactites drip from the ceiling. There is brown sand in front of a wide opening on the east wall of the cavern. Two small pits open in the floor near a pair of mist doors in the north wall.(Note you opened 1 of these doors to enter).

In the center of the room you see 2 huge serpentine monsters locked in combat, writhing on the floor in a tangle of coils.

One creature looks like a 40' long violet worm with a long stinger on the end of its tail. The worm lashes it's tail at it's opponent- A 50' slug with shiny grey skin. The slug retaliates by spewing a stream of sizzling liquid at the worm. The wounds on both creatures disappear a moment after they are inflicted.

On the back of each creature, you can just barely see a cloudy humanoid figure-The surfaces of the figures crackle with blue sparks. A single eyeball made of bright blue crystal is centered in the head of each figure. The figures kick their mounts. urging them to attack their opponents.

Great, just what we need. 2 dueling wizards with mounts with fast healing.
If our luck holds out they are probably fighting the possession of the ghost's eyes.

"GREAT SACRIFICES TO THE GREAT DEVOURER!!!!"

He draws his axe as his tongue comes lashing out. Drool splashes all over Schism nearly drowning her.

Sovereign Court

Nasty: With that lovely display of drool, the 2 riders take notice of the party and urge their mounts toward you.

"FOR MY TUMMY ... and the DEVOURER'S"

Tongue Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33

Swallow Whole: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 364d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 1) + 22 = 32

AXE Smash: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 142d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 1) + 12 = 19

Sovereign Court

Nasty: Lets assume you hit the slug yes? The acid should help with your digestion. If only I had an x-ray I could watch the midgard serpent and the slug fight it out.

You do find that the blue crystal is rather bland and spit it up

"Quick, AM HEALER, throw me at the worm!!!"

*Sneaks up behind the wizard while he is stunned by watching his slug being eaten.*

Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
Snicker Snack: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
Sneak Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 6) = 22
Assasinate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Roll Fort Save DC 10+half damage taken to avoid instant death.

Sovereign Court

Schism: Your blade cuts deep in to the not wizard rider killing him instantly. He's smiling from the neck 8>).

Do NOT mess with the assassin.

Scarab Sages

A second glance reveals that the figure on the back of the slug is has perhaps not so much been goading his mount into battle as scrabbling desperately to cling to it, in spite of an obvious lack of any real equestrian skill. To the party's surprise, he calls out to them at this point, in an amicable, albeit rather distressed, tone of voice:

"Ah-ha, I greet you, my, um, saviors, I am hoping? If you could kindly fell this beast so that I may safely dismount it? It is scarcely my preferred method of travel - or even an intended one, for that matter! However, I do believe I will take some worthy new insights into spring mechanics from this ordeal...."

I understand it's not precise, but about what level would you say the party is at this time?

breathes a syream of flame on one of the worms

I'll let you roll high damage.

I take the ghost's eye from the one I killed.
Anything happen when I touch it?

Sovereign Court

It appears as though the rider on the purple worm is attempting to dismount, upon second glance he is not ghostly at all but a real...uh..humanoid?, he successfully dismounts and avoids a rather nasty breath of fire from our gold draconic sorcerer

The part is 4th level ...sorta.

AMS: You sure you don't want to roll this.

Schism: You successfully remove the blue crystal eyeball, Nothing happens to you as you touch it. The other one is still mounted in the head of the former rider of the purple worm. That avvy is perfect 8>)

Nasty takes a moment to try and finish swallowing the giant slug he has inside his belly. The Midgard Serpent probably already taking to rending the creature to bits as it does not like to share space in his belly.

A huge belch comes forth from his gut near earth shaking.

"excuse me."

"May I eat the funny man? Need to sacrifice one more to the Devourer. he said three sacrifices only two with rider and slug. Or maybe me eat the dead worm? But I don't think that counts. I think I need to swallow whole while alive."

Sovereign Court

Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Nasty: The purple worm is still alive ooh and grilled up all nice and tender

Scarab Sages

Spring mechanics - but of course!

In the middle of the worm's gyration, the saffron-robed individual atop it flings himself off, catapulting in a perfect 180-degree arc and landing near the other side of the party.

He is tall and thin, with carmine-hued flesh, eyes that can only be described as "bright black," a distinctly diabolical tail, delicate spidery hands clearly suited for the most delicate of work, saffron robes topped with a generously-sized onion-dome turban, and is covered in the telltale paraphernalia of an adventurer.

He looks back at the worm. "Ooh, my word...."

For a split second, his eyes dart between the fine travel bag over his shoulder, and the baroque repeating crossbow at his hip. "Wait your turn," he then says sweetly to the bag, as he hefts the crossbow and fires it at the worm.

+1 Heavy Repeating Crossbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Sovereign Court

TAK: Your crossbow bolt sinks deep into the worms eye putting it out of it's misery.

Sitting before you all is a big ol 40' purple suasage.
