New Topic: What Venture Companies are going to provide services, specifically for settlement wars, or PvP content for those who like to fight?

I have read from plenty who claim they will PvP to be anti bandits, but none as of yet who claim they will PvP against other companies or settlements as part of the "Dominance" aspect of the game.

It is my hope that the PvP conflicts in the game are not just matters of Good vs. Evil or Law vs. Chaos, but also motivations like, this is our turf not yours. Where are the mercenaries that want to prove, "we are the toughest and you should hire us." Where are the barbarian war chiefs who want to "Crush their enemies, see them driven before them, and to hear the lamentations of their women"?

I seem to recall, early on, quite a few mercenary companies start up. Though, not many seem to remain active at this time. Nihomon's Guild list should have them.

I thank you for your response, but lists don't interest me, a hand raised claiming "I'm a warrior, looking for gold, guts and glory" is what I'm hoping for.

So far, Bandits and Caravan Guards are the only two groups that have raised their hands. If it weren't for my company, the caravan guards would be merchant / crafters from the looks of it.

Where are the warmongers? Where are the Barbarian hordes? Who else is willing to test their steel, spill blood and make the grass grow?

Who wants to Conquer and Dominate?!!

Myself and The Order of the Bloody Hand (The Bloody Hand for short) will be a evil mercenary group. We will be working from the shadows and on the field to assist the highest payer, or in some rare circumstances, those we would rather not lose a war. We will supply Assassins like myself, Necromancers to bolster casting forces, and evil fighting brutes to strengthen the front lines.

A Link to our thread.

I'm looking forward to playing a barbarian type, hoping that initiative for a warlike, expansionist settlement will start. Not really into the whole cloak and dagger scene personally.
Since it's more than a year 'til EE I'm in no hurry though. Restless hordes are restless, guess they generally don't have the patience to hang around the forums this early in the process. I expect to see more warmongers show their faces and declare their intents by next year.

I hereby declare total and unrestrained war on all orcish and goblinoid player nations!

Unfortunately, wrong game.... You could wage war against Human, Elvish, Gnome or Dwarven nations.

Which brings up an interesting question... Would racial difference be an acceptable reason for war?

Cowards didn't even bother to show up to the game eh? How typical.

Definitely. I immediately think of elven-dwarven wars in Tolkien's world, Warhammer and almost every other fantasy world that has both dwarves and elves in it.

well mine pocket ace, is still planned, though my odds of reaching EE are fairly slim, so it may be a while before I form.

In addition the first file, which has quite a bit in common with my plans, sounds like another one that is still active.

Nicely done, all that's missing is the random link to a shoe store.

(I can't figure out what the heck you're saying, it's like you threw a bunch of random words together that almost look like meaningful sentences, the way spambots do. No offense, I'm simply truly puzzled.)

In the context of the thread, it makes sense to me. Then again, I am sharp at deciphering strange word groupings this time every month. ;)

@Tuoweit, Onishi is referring to his Company, Pocket Ace, and a like-minded Company named The First File.

yeah my apologies, my brain hasn't been at full capacity today.

the company I intend to start, but due to the fact that my finances hit extreme lows shortly after I pledged for the tech demo, I will most likely not be in EE, and thus unless someone else wants to get it started, pocket ace will not exist until open enrollment.

Chartered company The first file has a very similar idea to pocket ace, and I believe a much higher chance of existing during EE, so that is another option in the potential soldiers of fortune category.

I'm glad you knew that; without either punctuation or capitals, I was lost.
