Some Martial changes / buffs / ideas

Homebrew and House Rules

i see a lot of talk about martials being "weak" in the game in comparison to spell casters. and within the general rules concepts of this game, i can agree. Here are some ideas to make martials more fun/interesting/powerful?

First i think the definition of martial vs caster needs to be defined upfront in this thread to avoid someone saying "well i think x is martial". In this game the difference between a martial and a caster is...spells, not spell like abiltiies, not resource abilities, not supernatural, but spells, that take spell slots.

so with that out of the way, here is my ideas.

All Martials should have 1.5-2x the feats of casters.
-Yes i can hear the fighters crying already. ill address that in a minute. The idea here is spells are essentially fantastical and more pwoerful feats, or abilities you can use that either provide buffs or cause something to happen. while a feat is usually not too limited by use other then circumstance, a spell is finite until rested. As such i think it makes sense for martials, to get more feats.

-Now as for fighters, i do not think there is any argument that fighters lack a identity, and i dont think "i get more feats /flex" is a all too interesting hook. they need revamped honestly, as of right now im not 100% sure how, but i think the big fighter thread could help.

Martials do not provoke AoO's when doing martial things
-ok i know "martial" things is a bit strange, so lets break down some. All combat maneuvers, a martial character shouldnt provoke in normal circumstances, same for unarmed strikes. Its STUPID that a martial character gets punished for trying these things. This also leads me to

Martials get a bigger bonus on combat manuever feats
-A simple edit to the feats "if you would not provoke AoO's when "insert manuever"-ing you instead get +4 instead of +2. This would simply mean martials are better at manuevers. some may say, hey, why cant my caster be just as good at maneuvers, my answer, its called multiclassing. I also think slight adjustments to CMB vs CMD to make some SLIGHTLY easier. I understand some are simply meant to be hard/almost impossible, and thats ok. but i think the difference between cmb and cmd should be slightly less, and any truly difficult things simply should be immune to the effect.

Now as far as affecting NARRATIVE POWER...thats a bit more difficult. a caster gains it thru those fantastical spells, allowing you to do things that simply dont make sense in the realm of logic, bending space time, affecting beings minds, etc. This is why i think a skill system should be changed.

you should get bonus skill points per level based on the skills attribute bonus. you have a 18 dex? you get 2 extra skill points that can only be spent on DEX abilities.

Suddenly fighters dont need that INT to be able to jump >.<
