Hi everyone,
I'm building a character focused around Aid Another for PFS play, and I'm wondering what people's opinions are on these two abilities on the same character:
Whenever you successfully perform an aid another action, you grant your ally a +4 bonus instead of the normal +2.
Aid Allies (Ex)
At 2nd level, whenever an order of the dragon cavalier uses the aid another action to assist one of his allies, the ally receives a +3 bonus to his armor class, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. At 8th level, and every six levels thereafter, this bonus increases by an additional +1.
Now, the question is, can these stack? Normally you'd give a +2 bonus when using Aid Another. Helpful makes it a +4, which I would consider to be a +2 Trait bonus. The order ability makes it a +3 (which later increases more) and I suppose it would be an untyped bonus.
So the question is, should these stack? I would say yes, but it might be up for debate.

I suppose one annoying interpretation* is that both of these specifically call out the aid another bonus, after gaining the abilities, as opposed to being written such as "you gain +x bonus on aid another checks". With Helpful outright calling it a "+4 bonus instead of..."; whilst the dragon cavalier ability sets aid another actions to "the ally receives a +3 bonus to...", though scaling with level. They bring in different set values as opposed to increasing the base value.
*Since otherwise it'd be quite an attractive character concept.

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the general consensus. I mean, a +4 to aid another is already really great, it just would have been nice to make it a +5. At much higher levels, the order of the Dragon power will end up higher, so it's still worth taking.
