Help me understand mounted charging

Rules Questions

So let me see if I've got this right: I can make a charge while mounted even w/out any feats correct? My questions are:

1. Do I get a +2 to hit/-2 to my AC?
2. Does my mount ALSO get +2 to hit/-2 to it's AC?
3. Do both I AND my mount get to make an attack this round?

I'm about to begin play tomorrow w/a NG Male Halfling ranger 1 mounted on a riding dog. I'm taking Weapon Focus: Halfling Sling-Staff and one of my traits is the Halfling trait: Helpful. Essentially I'm riding around on the back of my mount whipping sling stones until I get close enough/in the right position to charge, at which point I'm flying into melee. My hope is that my melee attacks from the charge will look like this:

Me: +5 (1d4+2)
My dog: +5 (1d6+2 plus Trip)

Please help me make this a reality.

Liberty's Edge

You will need to make a handle animal check. Double check with those rules, but I don't think there is anything to not allow you and your mount to attack during a charge.

Liberty's Edge

If both rider and mount would attack at the same distance when charging, both can attack. Otherwise, such as with a lance, you need some additional resources. Suggest seeing the Rules of the Game articles on mounted combat. There is a link in my profile.
