Why are Pre-Gens printed out like monsters?

Anyone have any idea why the Pre-Gen's aren't on standard Pathfinder character sheets? Do you think it is only because they would take two sheets then?

I think the idea was to make the characers playable straight off the sheet, with all of the details in place. It's easy enough to transcribe the important parts to your own blank character sheet if you prefer another format.

Scarab Sages

It takes fewer sheets I think. Also, pictures. Pictures draw in new people more than 2 white sheets of paper with lots of words and numbers.
That's all I got though. Might be other reasons.

I always get people to fill out a regular character sheet based on the pregen. This way, they see where everything is.

Have you ever talked to Valeros in person? I suppose not. If you had you wouldn't have needed to ask this question.

On top of all that, I think it is a good idea to get as many players familiar with the standard Pathfinder stat block format. I actually know of a few players that keep their characters in stat blocks instead of a character sheet.

Is that because they use Herolab?

It's because they ARE monsters. They are all Dopplegangers and one of these days they are all going to turn on us.

I don't use Herolab, but I do type up my characters in stat-block format. It is easier to use than a "standard" character sheet. Have been doing so since 3e.

It's an option in HeroLab, but not what you might call the default output format.

I only use the stat block output if I am posting something for review, or sending it via email to someone with a slow connection.

For regular use, I just print out the regular formats, which winds up stretching out to more pages than the standard charcater sheet does. But that includes the gear & ability pages which lists out the complete rules/descriptions for gear and abilities.
