Am looking at building a Priest (Tome of Secrets) and was after some initial thoughts/feedback...
My DM has agreed that I dont have to take the Knowledge domain but that to keep it balanced and logical I will lose the Bardic knowledge ability too.
So Im thinking domains of Travel, Ash and Luck ???
In addition Im making his race Samsaran and using the Adept list for my alternate spells (or does anyone think Druid would be a better bet?)
My big dilemma is whether to take a 1 level dip in fighter - thus generating 2 extra feats, a bit of extra HP and BAB but more importantly Heavy Armour Prof..... this I thought was critical as I did want survivabililty to compensate for my D6 HP and my slightly lower Con than I would have taken as a regular Cleric, plus as Im the only healer in the party, I will be finding myself in harms way from time to time.
What do you think of the above potential (IMO it has some serious ass whupping potential) and is the dip worth it Vs being 1 level behind in my spellcasting?
Come on gents!.... This is a build that Ive never seen been attempted before (at least from what Ive seen on the boards!)...... is it worth it??
I am of the opinion that unless you have two stats adding to AC and you really max those stats out, your AC will never out distance the baddies' to hit modifier. I think Medium armor is fine, and your best bet is to make sure you can heal yourself when you do get thumped.
There are of course different schools of thought, but that's my opinion.
Not quite sure I understand....
The Priest class only gets light armour (and no shield) proficiency hence why I am toying with taking a level dip in fighter. This would enable me to max out my AC as per normal BUT at the cost of being a level behind in spellcasting. Or are you suggesting I stay as Priest and use a feat to get medium armour prof? There is also the question of the 2 extra feats Id get from the dip....
To dip or not to dip that is the question!!
