For a while, I have been looking at the Gunslinger class, as a way of representing a type of character from one of my favorite types of fantasy, The Wild West.
The Gunslinger has always lacked one CRITICAL element to the western style however, it lacks a survivable horse. Sure, it's cool to have a gun, and do shoot-outs, but a horse has always been essential to the Cowboys of western style and I wouldn't want a gunslinger without one. Without further Adu:
Race: Half-Elf/Human, Stats: High Dex and Wis, Cha of 13.
Archetype: Musket Master or Mysterious Stranger, Leaning towards Musket Master.
lvl 1: feats Point Blank shot, skill focus (Knowledge Nature)
lvl 3: Eldritch Heritage Sylvan Bloodline, Rapid Reload (MM)
lvl 4: Bonus Feat (Precise Shot)
lvl 5: Boon Companion
Lvl 7: Mounted Combat
Lvl 8: Bonus Feat: Deadly Aim
Lvl 9: Mounted Archery
Lvl 11: Rapid shot
Skills: Keep maxed out on Handle Animal, and Ride, have some ranks in Craft Alchemy and fire-arms. Look for a trait to grant knowledge nature (There is a Faith one) and perhaps disable device (I didn't find one)
I'm not sure if I can take the sylvan Bloodline with Eldritch Heritage, that's the main rules concern. Beyond that I think everything else works...

Goldfinger will get you disable device, but you have to belong to the Qadira faction.
Looks like you are trying to use eldritch heritage to get an animal companion. I agree with the above poster, I don't think you can use it to get one of the wildblooded bloodlines, as those bloodlines are specific to that archetype. Even if it is legal, it's probably one of those things that will have a lot of table variation, and unless there's a clarification somewhere that says its legal you're better off not doing it.
So you'll probably want to switch out the Boon Companion, Mounted Combat and Mounted Archery feats for more gun related feats (like clustered shot). If the character concept really requires the mount then you'll have to come up with some other way to get it. 4 levels in cavalier and horse master would do it.

My experience with Westerns is that the horse usually didn't survive. There were a few exceptions, like the Lone Ranger and Silver, but clearly he had enough levels in Paladin to give him a bonded mount.

Oh I know that, but this character would likely only see play in scenarios where I am Dead heading them, and know that it works. I could take levels in Luring Cavalier also, but the idea here was to get one (At the cost of TWO feats mind you) without having to multi-class. I really didn't want to mix flavor because my concept is not a sorcerer, or barbarian, or even really a cavalier (which is the option I would take). It is a gunslinger who rides a horse.

Maybe out of your character concept, but you could just buy and use regular horse. It will save you some feats.
Second possibility might be to use (perhaps an item?) magic and summon one. While a lone cowboy might be cool, it might be even cooler when you summon your own steed. Even if he dies, you can tell other pathfinders: "Don't worry. He'll be back in a moment." *snaps fingers* and your mount is back.

Flavor is something you add to the character. If you don't want to be remotely barbarianish then you're not remotely barbarianish. You merely have a +1 bab , a cool horse, and a few extra skill points to put towards tracking wrangling, and roping.
