Prankster (Archtype) + Swap + Whip?

So, this seems a little silly, but the prankster archtype has a swap power that lets them steal an item in combat and replace it with something of theirs. It says that it functions as per the steal maneuver. The Steal maneuver in turn says it can be used with a whip at -4. Does this mean that a prankster can use his whip, and exchange the necklace he is wearing with the one his opponent is wearing? And if he rolls high enough they don't even notice the exchange?

Only if he beats the opponents CMD by 10 or more. If its less than 10 he steals it but they know. 10 or more and they have no clue.

Though I think the idea is to replace the orc barbarian's greatsword with bunch of flowers. More than it is to get away with stealing valuables. Though it certainly can be both.

Well, you can only swap the sword if he hasn't drawn it yet, but yes. It really is the idea that you can use the whip to deliver an item. I'm not sure why that seems sillier than using the whip to take an object, but it just does.
